High Platelet count in pregnancy

Hi everyone,
I have just received a letter after my recent blood test saying that my platelet count is high. I am in my third trimester. Does anyone know what this means? I am worrying x

I had it. I was referred to a blood doctor at the local cancer unit. Seriously, DO NOT BE ALARMED- as its what they did to all in pregnancy with it.

Its only because the unit had the knowledge into the platelets etc. It was all down to your body preparing into any potential blood loss. Happened to me in my 3rd/last pregnancy. Was checked 6 weeks after birth and everything was back to normal.

When I googled it cancer came up. I suffer with really bad anxiety when it comes to medical related things and I’m trying to hard to stay calm. I always think the worst and because the letter just arrived with no explanation I just went into a melt down. You’ve helped me feel a bit better. Thanks for sharing your experience. Xx
