I am fed up with this Adulting Malarkey!

Working from home at the minute - quickly popped into the loo, went to wash my hands and realised the sink was blocked so then have just had to spend the best part of an hour with a long piece of wire, pulling all manner of hair (two long haired teenage DC who despite repeated telling a brush their hair over the sink, whilst looking into the bathroom mirror and just leave their hair to wash down the sink!!!), soap scum, facial scrub remnants, mould and stuff that to be honest I couldn’t identify and probably don’t want to think too much about, out of the plug hole and then cleaning out the plug/trap thing.

Was totally vile! However, the sink does now drain!

Whilst doing it - I was thinking back to the days (I am now 50) when I would have just called “Muuum, sink’s blocked” and go back to the book I was reading, or doing my hair or whatever I had been doing and it would have been somehow sorted out.

I really, really didn’t appreciate how much easier things were when someone else was did all this kind of stuff ....

I just have tried explaining this to DC (whilst waving a mould, soap scum and long hair covered piece of wire at them!) but although they nodded and said “Ugh!”, I don’t think they truly get it...

I am going to be reminding them of this moment in 30 years time....

I totally get it.

All I want to do today is veg on the couch but I can't as I promised my mum I'd go shopping for her. Currently waiting for admittance to the supermarket. Its such a drag.

Next time they do it.

Angry To make matters worse - I threw the old, empty toothpaste away as I cleared the sink as I did it, so I went to put some more in there (being the considerate person I am!) went to the cupboard that it is kept in to get it picked the box out to find it has been opened from the other end and is empty. Angry

I had seen a box in there so hadn’t got any more in the shopping as we had a spare tube. Why the hell has someone taken the sodding tube out and left the empty box in the cupboard??

@BlackeyedSusan Oh yes, that was part of the rant! If it gets blocked again they will be dealing with it!

They are also now walking down to the shop to go and buy toothpaste whilst I go back to work.
