Taxi or public transport?

I'm in London and have to make an essential journey today. It's too far to walk (would take about 3 hours), I don't have a bike and I don't have a car (can't drive anyway!).

What's safer, public transport or taxi? With public transport I would only need to get 1 train and could walk the rest of the journey. The train is likely to be completely empty and I would wear a mask.

I would have thought the train.
A lot cheaper than a Taxi too.

I would take the train personally, just make sure you take hand sanitiser with you and use it once you get on the train, and again when you get off

Train. Wear a facemask and gloves. Wash your hands as often as you can.

The expense doesn't matter, I was more concerned about safety

My instinct was the train too
