@lettersbyowl

Pate. I have no idea why people want to eat a meaty paste that smells like dog food.
Vegan household here but I buy pâté to put the dog’s medicine in. 🤢

Brawn.

YukoandHiro · 30/05/2020 18:17

Tongue, tripe. Anything that's both meaty and slimy. Ugh.

timetest · 30/05/2020 18:21

Taramasalata
Green olives - black ones are fine
Offal
White chocolate
Sausages

Katinski · 30/05/2020 18:23

Nothing at all. Try, taste, and if I don't like it, leave.
My mum and dad came to visit us in Italy. My mum was up to try everything, dad not.

SluggishSnail · 30/05/2020 18:27

Any sort of milk pudding: rice pudding, semolina, tapioca. I had one spoonful of a crème brulee once and couldn't do it.

Rare meat.

Savoury things with fruit, like salad with pomegranate or raisins, or sultanas in curry, pineapple on pizza.

It's definitely more texture than taste, but I agree with pp about parsnips. They are rank.

pinkmagic1 · 30/05/2020 18:28

Mushy peas. Look like bogies!

lljkk · 30/05/2020 18:49

Snails. Just no. Or any obvious part of the nervous system.

I had oyster a few yrs ago. Didn't taste special & a they are filter feeders so you know logically they might be full of germs or pollution. But just not as gross as snails. I'm pretty adventurous on other suggestions.

Ilovesunshine22 · 30/05/2020 18:50

Jellied eels 🤢
I used to wretch walking past the fish counter as a kid seeing them.

Billyjoearmstrong · 30/05/2020 18:54

Any seafood. Especially stuff with legs and eyes.

My son was working in the philippines and ate Balut, a local delicacy. He said it was the most disgusting thing he has EVER eaten. [He is pretty adventurous].'Balut is a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. It is commonly sold as street food in the Philippines The length of incubation before the egg is cooked is a matter of local preference, but generally ranges between 14 and 21 days....He also tried manioc [Tamilok is a popular Filipino delicacy also known as ‘ woodworm’ because it is found in decaying, rotten logs or thick tree trunks submerged underwater in swamps-like mangroves. The wood is then cracked open in order to extract the slimy creatures …] but he said the Balut was the worst...rather him than me!

rosepoet · 30/05/2020 18:55

He said the Balut was crunchy...he still shudders at the thought...

highmarkingsnowbile · 30/05/2020 19:03

Offal
Cheese - I'm lactose intolerant and before you could get all this dairy-free product I became very adversely conditioned to it.

AnnieCartwright · 30/05/2020 19:08

Oysters. Just snotty.

sixnearlyseven · 30/05/2020 19:12

Seafood like prawns, mussels , squid, basically anything from the sea that's not white fishBlush

Zaphodsotherhead · 30/05/2020 19:18

Bloody hell I've just realised what a glutton I am. There's a few things on here that I don't much like, but I will eat them as long as someone else is doing the cooking and the washing up.

Only things I wont eat are the things I'm so allergic to that they will kill me - snails, oysters and mussels (and I love all three).

I don't really like artichokes though.

Spied · 30/05/2020 19:23

Cauliflower

Prettybubblesintheair · 30/05/2020 19:32

Bananas. Can’t even stand to touch them and the smell makes me retch. The sight of someone peeling makes me feel shivery and just “wrong” and discarded skins make me feel ill too. I don’t like most fruits but will eat raspberries and blueberries. But it’s only banana I have an actual phobia of.
Anything in a shell, I’ll eat battered or breaded cod, fish fingers and salmon at a push but that’s it for seafood.
Offal.
Cottage cheese
Gacpatio (no idea how to spell it? Cold tomato soup)
Cucumber
Raw tomatoes (I eat tinned, pasatta etc in cooking)
Tinned sweetcorn
Most salad food.

GhostofGeishaPast · 30/05/2020 19:47

Beef cheeks.

Everyone in my Slimming World group were obsessed with them. Tasty, low fat, tender etc etc.

What a horrible gelatinous slimy pile of shoite they are, bleurgh, never again.

borntohula · 30/05/2020 19:58

Deep fried spider.

lilladyvinyl · 30/05/2020 21:44

NeedToKnow101 · 30/05/2020 21:46
