Hello everyone, I hope you guys are safe and well, I’m after an advice if someone can help or been in similar situation before .
my husband and my self we work in education sector , our ENHANCED DBS to stay clear and clean is very important to us .
My question is, if is a criminal damage will be recorded on my husband’s enhanced DBS 😩😩

Criminal damage? What happened?

More details are needed, when? as in it may be spent. What happened is caution or conviction? and costs incurred etc.

Happened this afternoon when my husband went shopping after work and asked the guy if he’s leaving , so he can park on his space , instead he swore at my husband and raised his both middle fingers at him ( looks like either he was drunk or in bad mood ) so unfortunate my husband went out of the car fuming questioning his unacceptable behaviour , his windscreen was already broken apparently because when my husband just literally put his hand on it had a little crack . There was a cctv there , the guy phoned the police and gave them our car number plate : we had a visit from the police , they were really nice guys , they looked at the footage and they new and understand what happens but they can’t proof that he swore and did what he did , my husband didn’t deny and accept full responsibility to pay for the bloody damage occurred to his car and in the report was a criminal damage 😞😞, if this shows on his enhanced DBS he can loose his job at the school

Was he cautioned? Taken to police station? What paperwork did they give him?

Thank you for replying , Not at all , the police did come to our house , spoke to my husband and because he was honest and didn’t deny what happened, they asked him to pay for the damage better than going through caution etc, and he did accept , they send us a report online that’s all , was written it’s a criminal damage nothing more . I don’t know where we can Check if this will show on his enhanced DBS

If they looked at the CCTV footage they would see him just placing his hand there not him causing criminal damage surely

So the cctv shows your husband didn’t cause any damage then?

It doesn’t sound like he’s being charged with anything?

He hasn't been convicted of anything so no.

Even if he was, a school would be very silly to sack someone (or not employ) them based on a criminal damage conviction.

He’s not been charged so all sounds positive that it won’t appear on his record. If he is still concerned he could ask the officer. Also it would depend on how long he’s been in the job as to if it would even matter. It’s more likely to be an issue with a new job than a long held one. But if he is ever asked he would be better to say what happened than to have to explain if it did come up. Unfortunately there are so many variables as in what his job is etc etc as to give you a definite answer to put your mind at ease. But for example we ask for a dbs check on all colleagues but we would have more of an issue if they said there was nothing on it than most crimes. The only people we couldn’t employ are those on the barring lists, sex offenders etc.
