Life on furlough

I'm working, stressed and putting on weight like nobodys business.

Let me live vicariously through you and tell me what you're doing to enjoy your time on furlough.

Looking after a preschooler (just 4) and toddler (22 months). Attention span is approx 2 minutes. Big one doesn’t like playing in the garden, little one does but just wants to shovel gravel onto the lawn/down his vest. I normally work 3 days a week. Come bedtime I’m more exhausted and stressed than after a day at work (and putting on weight thanks to constant snack requests & baking). I’d rather be working tbh!

I’m on furlough.
Get up - breakfast. Able to cook different things rather than chucking a bowl of cereal down the kids throats
Then school for 3 kids, keeping track of who’s doing what, explaining quadratic equations to one while encouraging another to finish their mock newspaper on Pompeii and trying to get the youngest to sit still and do his timeline on dinosaurs.
Stop for lunch. Let kids bounce on trampoline etc or go for a walk.
Afternoon is more school work, a board game or a practical science experiment or some sort of craft.
Then cook tea. Often a child will help.
Clear up, watch some tv as a family. Put kids to bed/send to bed. Watch a bit of tv. Bed.

Rinse and repeat except once a week one of us goes to the supermarket for the weeks food.

Dh is unable to sit & do nothing so is landscaping our back garden. He's created a play are for the children's climbing frame & toys, has cleared the scrubby bit at the bottom & is now making me a raised flower bed Smile. We didn't have much money when we first moved in so just laid a patio & turfed the rest. It's finally feeling like a proper garden & I'm getting excited about new plants Grin. We're also crisis schooling 4 dc & trying to keep a unruly 2yo under control. His company are hoping to be starting work again at the end of June.

Sorry everything is getting on top of you!

Trying to get reluctant DS to do some schoolwork, bored to tears in a flat with no garden and panicking about the fact that I might not have a job to go back to.

Watching shit loads of TV and putting on weight as well. Grin

I'm not enjoying it to be honest.
