What on earth is this in my garage?

In the rafters of our garage there are a few planks of mdf that's been there for years.

Today DH was in the garage and happened to look up and spot this mystery thing stuck to one of the planks.

It's about the size of a 50p piece, jelly like and orange.

Pic below:

What on earth is this in my garage?

Jelly fungus? Wicked!

I think the fairies were doing orange jello shots in your garage and things got out of hand...

It's orange slime mould not a jelly fungus I don't think. Jellies tend to grow on old, damp, decaying wood.

Looks like sap dripping from a piece of softwood above. MDF in damp conditions will bloom lots of colourful fungus though.
