What do you mean by valid? You can measure HCg levels and it will still be up at that point but levels do start to drop

There is no point though in doing them usually by then because an ultrasound is much more useful

Much better off having a scan at 3 months. I can't imagine a Dr doing a blood test to confirm a pregnancy if you believe you are 3 months gone before doing a scan. Though who knows, I may be wrong!

Ah! I understand now what you mean (if PPs are correct). I would agree that a scan would be best at 3 months pregnant. That would be the 12 week scan point anyway.
