Anyone work for the DVLA that can help me?

My husbands consultant has sent off his paperwork to apply for his license to be reissued but the DVLAs website currently says they aren’t processing anything that isn’t directly related to COVID 19. DH isn’t a critical worker so doesn’t fall into this category but really needs his license ASAP for work purposes. Anyone any idea when things are likely to be up and running again?

DH had a 1 yr licence due to medical issues. It was recently renewed a bit close to expiry for our liking but (just) before expiry

Received my medical form yesterday. For diabetes.

You can do online applications but we need to send his off due to them needing the consultants paperwork. Consultants secretary has been very helpful and that side of things was done pretty quick but I have a feeling it’s going to take a age for the DVLA to actually process. It actually says on the website they aren’t processing postal applications

Yes, during lockdown (although probably about 3-4 weeks ago). I think the delay was his consultant rather than DVLA

I renewed my license online. Just a normal renewal though. Came within about 4 days! It was really fast. Sorry that might not be helpful if it needs to be looked into in more detail.
