...learn how to bake a decent sponge cake.

What has it only taken a global pandemic for you to learn?

realise i need SOME social interaction, even if its just the checkout chick or the school bus driver.
Them day to day interactions mean more than i thought before corona

Re-learn how to ride a bike.

It really isn't true what they say about you never forgetting how to ride a bike. The last time I tried I ended up with two magnificent black eyes.

So although I am very, very sedate and still a bit wobbly when confronted with narrow gaps, I am very pleased at finally being able to cycle again.

To realize I'm not lazy and shit at cleaning...I just don't have time because of work!!!

@AnyFucker I’m with you on the make up AND Wolf Hall. I keep being told to read it but snoorrrreeee and I usually love history stuff.

Wash my broom... no longer do I seem to produce more dust then I sweep and it was so easy too!!

Learn French. In the eventual hope that when Covid-19 finishes, we can go there.

listsandbudgets · 22/05/2020 21:59

So pleased to see a couple of other Wolf Hall haters on this thread. I tried it ages ago but it was so boring. My mum implored me to give it a chance and I pointed out that I did read the first 150 pages before giving up. I love history and know a lot about that period but it was a miserable read.

...start to do Pilates and realise it feels really bloody good and really helps my dodgy back.

I've learnt to like drinking tea for the first time in my life. I'm 37.
I've also discovered I love nice brandy, neat.

And I can make a passable mayonnaise.

Stop eating takeaways.

Thesuzle · 22/05/2020 22:14

Ha ! I see your Wolf HAll and raise you “The mirror and the light“ , toooo many characters, it’s a hard read, when i normally rip through books, so cross, not a cheap book either

HeyLala · 22/05/2020 22:23

@thesuzie

Oh no. I bought the third but decided I'd have all the time in the world to re-read Wolf Hall and Bringing up the bodies again before.
Half way through WH on audible

@LadyLooLaa totally with you on the gardening hatred. I would rather clean than garden, and that's saying a lot Grin

It's taken a pandemic for me to...de-scale the kettle, confirm I have not missed my vocation as a teacher (home school is hell), and sit down and read Harry Potter to the DC.
