Little tiny bugs

I have posted about this before but can't find the thread and can't remember what they were! It was a few years ago.

I found these tiny bugs on my windowsill in my spare room and there are about 20 on the sill. I found a few on the floor but my spare room is going to be a dressing room and it is full of clothing, plaster board, tubs to mix plaster. So every part of the room is full. Not easy to look for an infestation.

When I had them before I found them in my room and bathroom and I just kept hoovering them up and they eventually went... or that's what I remember.

I recently moved my DC out of the spare room into their own and I emptied the room and then put all the above things back in there. This was during lockdown around the start of it.

So we've managed to get a load on the windowsill and some on the floor within 7 weeks or so. I hoovered the ones on the floor the other day now they are back.

I really really hope it isn't a bad infestation but I dnt remember getting this many before. Also I did google and they look like carpet beetles, it's also said if squashed they leave a brown smear. I squashed one and I just heard a crack sound but didn't leave a smear.

Sorry if pic isn't that good it's hard as they are so small. Also almost all the ones on the windowsill have died.

Oh my god I have literally just taken a photo of one too with the intention of finding out what they are. They're clearly invading!

We have them too, quite a few this year.

Carpet beetles arghhh

The beetles aren’t necessarily a problem, the larvae are though - google a pic. They eat fabrics and if you ever happen to get one of the hairs against your skin you can get huge welt/spots.

Get some spray to kill them!

Also pretty sure they don’t die - they turn into little flying beasts

Pest control can fumigate but I'm not sure if that's a possibility atm.

Argh wish I never saw them!
Thing is my sons clothes are in the spare room because we have nowhere else to put them until the room is turned into a dressing room. I noticed one or two on the floor by his clothes (they are all stacked nicely not thrown in a pile, so can easily lift them to see if more are there) so I hoovered those and can see another couple today, the windowsill is the main problem. Don't want them to eat through his clothes.

I really wish the room wasn't full of stuff! It would be so much easier to sort! But I just think I got rid of them last time hopefully I can do it again.

I've lived here for over a decade and only started to notice them a few years ago. Angry
