Hi all,

I hope everyone is staying safe and well. I have been in post grad employment for 5 years, however I want to change career and go into teaching. I was planning on doing my PGCE this September, however my DP has been offered a 2 year job in Australia that's too good to pass up. Is anyone able to let me know the best way going about gaining the equivalent qualification is Aus and where I can find information on funding? Tia!

I don’t know where you intend to live but look up what universities are within reasonable travelling distance and they will have their international student fees advertised. A few of my friends have become teachers with a postgrad qualification but it takes longer than a year to do. You may also need to work in Australia for at least a year to get your full registration for your qualification to be recognised in the UK. My sister has been teaching for 2.5 years before getting her full registration but she didn’t work full time to begin with so it can be done more quickly.
