What a fantastic and special man. We deserved.

JudyCoolibar · 20/05/2020 11:54

I'm delighted if it makes him happy, but it does feel uncomfortably like a cynical piece of populism by Johnson and Cummings.

Samcro · 20/05/2020 11:55

im pleased

KonTikki · 20/05/2020 11:57

No it's not populism.
Look what he achieved at his age.
I would much rather he got knighted than some charlatans ....
Looking at you Philip Green !

Itsmemaggie · 20/05/2020 11:57

@judycoolibar I agree. It’s not that I don’t think he deserves it, it just feels like a cynical move to create a news story that will distract from the real story, which is the government’s complete mismanagement of this crisis.

Pelleas · 20/05/2020 12:13

I was glad to read it had made Colonel Tom happy, but I'm afraid in the wider sense it's simply bread and circuses to distract from the utter shambles that has been the government's response to the pandemic.

SouthWestmom · 20/05/2020 13:43

What else could they do though? Compound the failures by refusing to acknowledge the amazing efforts of individuals?

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 20/05/2020 13:52

Wonderful news and very well deserved. If you think anything else then you're a miserable twat Smile

lockdownstress · 20/05/2020 14:08

Great way to bury bad news about the handling of covid. lovely for him but this is the equivalent of throwing a dead cat onto the table when a meeting is going badly.....
