DD met with her friends for a walk. They bought drinks from the cafe. Last night we passed at least 10 teen boys out for a bike ride. They looked sheepish and thought we were going to tell them off. “Alright lads” we said, the relief on their faces. Bollocks to this continued illogical imprisonment of the young.

Dowser · 19/05/2020 22:21

Thank you, you lovely ladies
Some great suggestions
I’ve tried clove oil...hasn’t really worked
I hang in and take two paracetamol at bed time, but will try crappy paracetamol biting down method.

I’ve got a tiny bit of something in the gap...dentek..it’s about £8 for half an inch..sets hard ..so it’s okayish for now
Still hurt like billyo at supper

Had a lovely 3 hours with my daughter at home, then set off for the park.

Only 3 tossers in masks ..I mean it’s a park ffs, unless they were protecting me

Only downside of today..geese wouldnt eat the fatballs I took them.

Lovely to see the young lads / teens having a game of footy
How it should be and I think the cafe is opening their kiosk for cuppas
So gradually moving forward
As a few more businesses start to open, the trickle will turn into a torrent

I’m in cahoots with the lady next door..I won’t mention her children and grandchildren coming round if she doesn’t mention mine

After all, we spent an afternoon together at what turned out to be a riotous VD party in another neighbours garden

Great fun.

Just what was needed

Dowser · 19/05/2020 22:22

Absolutely knob chops

savehalloween · 19/05/2020 22:24

lilac the only reason I will be doing that (I haven't seen my mum in two months and would really love to hug her) is because of the curtain twitchers. I don't want to get my mum hassle with her neighbours for helping me out.

I completely agree though. They've dodged the question so completely. Then Matt Hancock (I despise that man) saying we can't hug people outside our household until a vaccine is made which is just the complete other end of the ridiculous spectrum.

I think the "use your common sense" mantra they are trotting out a lot at the moment means read between the lines.

Dowser · 19/05/2020 22:25

Springersock, my grandson was supposed to be applying for uni in September for next year.
How they dare not consider opening for 15 months is beyond stupid
I hope everyone avoids these idiot places

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 22:27

save are they saying “use your common sense”? I don’t see much MSM.

Wancock’s comments were the second time I became suicidal in this lockdown. My neighbour talked me down from the ledge. I really hope that man gets what he deserves.

thenightsky · 19/05/2020 22:28

Like a PP, I'm desperate to have some physio input. I think I've got frozen shoulder (Dr Google). I hurt it on the 1st week of lockdown at my very last pilates class (push ups and planks). My neck is stiff and I cannot lift my arm at all. Pins and needles over my shoulder blade and hand. Making me shout in my sleep according to DH.

Working from home on the dining table has made it 10 times worse. So pissed off now.

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 22:28

Actually, my neighbour mentioned the “use your common sense” thing but I didn’t think it had been said officially, I thought she was saying it.

ThatLibraryMiss · 19/05/2020 22:30

I just saw the dementor story on the BBC website about how the R rate in Bradford has either increased because of people fighting or hugging each other after VE parties

I thought it was the death rate? On one day. Which you would kind of expect - in fact, I'd be surprised and suspicious if there weren't a few blips and troughs in the downward trend, because if the line is smooth someone's massaging the figures.

RubberDinghyRapids · 19/05/2020 22:36

After all, we spent an afternoon together at what turned out to be a riotous VD party in another neighbours garden

Adding STIs is just insult to injury Grin

MinesaPinot · 19/05/2020 22:39

I've just strayed into the main CV talk and read some of the threads. Shoot me now. I was feeling quite upbeat but that and the news have plunged me down tonight. Never mind, wine order coming tomorrow so that will be ok.

savehalloween · 19/05/2020 22:39

lilac Boris in his own speeches and as answers to press questions. Seems to be a bit of a sound bite, along with the equally vague 'stay alert'. Frustrating.

RunningNinja79 · 19/05/2020 22:40

@RubberDinghyRapids My tongue was firmly in cheek. Sorry, thought was obvious. Not trying to police the thread

I realised that :)

Was just using it to praise the thread. Sorry to confuse you

savehalloween · 19/05/2020 22:41

lilac really sorry that happened. I hate how irresponsible he's being, he seems to relish in taking away people's hope.

I'm glad you had your neighbour. Hope things are a bit better now.

AnotherEmma · 19/05/2020 22:55

Those of you who are desperate to see a physio - try ringing round the private physios and osteopaths near you. I have bad PGP and my osteo has been seeing people (with precautions) THANK THE LORD. So you might just be lucky and find someone who can help.

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/05/2020 22:57

Remind me not to venture anywhere on Mumsnet except here!

Dowser · 19/05/2020 23:00

Just looked at the article in daily mail
I’m totally shocked at this
I hope all would be students give them a wide berth for three years.

BogRollBOGOF · 19/05/2020 23:02

I haven't heard from my osteopath yet. I normally go for a monthly MOT as my pelvis twists out of alignment easily and I'm prone to a lot of muscle tension.

Fortunately the dominance of warm, dry weather tends to make the most of my mobility. I've been getting away with a long, hot bath and self massaging to manage some of it, but it's not quite the same!
I've been avoiding HITT type exercise as I don't want to risk random injury, it doesn't take much.

He's probably enjoyed the rest from my knotted calves!

MinesaPinot · 19/05/2020 23:03

Lilac I do feel for you and totally understand. I felt so desperate after hearing him say that and I howled. Flowers to you.

I agree with savehalloween he does seem to relish spreading bursting everyone's bubble. Mind you, I think they all do, Dementors the lot of them.

Dowser · 19/05/2020 23:05

Rubber dinghy
After mine host, wobbled and fell, splashing his beer all over, luckily the glass bounced
My dh thought it was ok to get pissed...he’s funny with it, so i don’t mind..too much
What was meant to be social distancing went out of the window when it rained and we all had to squash under an awning Or get wet.
It was hilarious.

I wouldn’t care, none of us will see 60 again 😂😂😂
Shoot us now.
( my dh was in bed by 9 pm..so much for being a party animal)

Dowser · 19/05/2020 23:08

Ah, autocorrect
I just realised my VE had been changed to VD lol

Dowser · 19/05/2020 23:10

Did anyone see the vid of the guy who hung up a shower curtain In the garden and put plastic sleeves in so he could give his gran a hug
I felt like saying..of for ffs..just hug her but don’t cough on her , each wear a mask and wash hands after

Dowser · 19/05/2020 23:12

Here it is
I could weep at what we’ve been reduced to

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-52708674/coronavirus-man-devises-cuddle-curtain-to-hug-gran

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 23:14

Thank you for the supportive words

Good to know Johnson said “use your common sense” as I might have to say that to a policeman.

LilacTree1 · 19/05/2020 23:17

I wonder if Cambridge have announced this as a tactic to help move the madness along to get rid of 2m.
