Just that really! I am trying to declutter my house, and re-organise things.
What do you keep in this cupboard? It opens at an awkward angle, so trying to be clever about I put in there. Looking for ideas/hacks!
Thanks

Whatever you want, it's your kitchen! Hmm

NaomiFromMilkShake · 19/05/2020 13:10

The fish kettle.

hamsterchump · 19/05/2020 13:11

Probably stuff I wanted to keep but didn't use very often so depending on habits, maybe baking stuff or big dishes for when people come over etc. I keep DIY stuff like tools and paint in the kitchen so if I had this cupboard I might put that stuff up there as I don't need it regularly.

SpooniesAreGo · 19/05/2020 13:13

The bread maker.

LittleBearPad · 19/05/2020 13:13

I’m getting one of those. I think it will be baking stuff as I don’t use it very much. Or serving plates etc that aren’t used often.

mynameiscalypso · 19/05/2020 13:13

I keep all kinds of shit in mine but it's mainly stuff that I've forgotten I even have - random baking tins, a marmalade jar, Tupperware without lids, an old toaster. Sorting it out should probably be a lockdown job.

There is no cupboard over the fridge. I share a flat and there is very little storage space. We just have a cupboard each for our food and half a cupboard plates etc.

Howevr, on top of the freezer I keep the recycling bags and some food storage boxes and some spare kitchen towel.

Trays

Haypyrexic · 19/05/2020 13:26

Stuff I rarely use, trays etc because I have to open the fridge to get to it, it doesn't have a separate door.

LennyPugGoat · 19/05/2020 13:28

Shopping bags

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 19/05/2020 13:31

Plastic cups, bowls etc that we use for picnics/bbq and the dc if they have lunch outside

TheHighestSardine · 19/05/2020 13:31

Don't put small things in it, you'll never use them again so they'll just moulder. Recycle them instead.

Use it for large occasional things - although if your door doesn't open well then the usual "breadmaker and mixer" might not go in and out.

Bags is a good call, Lenny.

Elouera · 19/05/2020 13:32

I don't have a cupboard above the fridge! I have things stacked on the actual fridge though- Grin

Mixing bowls, a large metal salad bowl and a trifle dish.

weepingwillow22 · 19/05/2020 13:36

Food that I don't want my children to reach (mainly chocolate) Grin

GBroGal · 19/05/2020 13:42

Vases - different shapes and sizes, for fancy bouquets or the more usual supermarket bunch. Surprising how much room they take up but it's nice to have just the right one for the occasion - like my 'goldfish bowl' shaped one that is just for tulips.

MissConductUS · 19/05/2020 14:09

Cookbooks.

BruceAndNosh · 19/05/2020 14:11

All the stuff that MNetters have lost over the years.
Let me tell you, it was a bugger getting the ironing board in.

JonnyPocketRocket · 19/05/2020 14:13

My mum's got one of those randomly above another cupboard 🤷🏼‍♀️ She uses it to store the slow cooker, vases and "table linens" for when she has the sort of guests that warrant such things.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 19/05/2020 14:13

I keep roasting tins and trays in there as they're flat and I don't have another suitable cupboard for them.

pinkazing · 19/05/2020 14:15

Ours holds medicines and first aid stuff

Strugglingtodomybest · 19/05/2020 14:24

A jumbo jet.

RhymingRabbit3 · 19/05/2020 15:10

Appliances which I dont use much- food processor, waffle iron, slow cooker, electric whisk.

Myshitisreal · 19/05/2020 15:12

Cook books I don't use often but am not willing to get rid of

42andcounting · 19/05/2020 17:09

The treats!!!! Because it's the only cupboard my six year old hasn't worked out how to get into BlushGrin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/05/2020 17:22

No idea, I'll go and have a look...

2 bowls from our every day set I'd forgotten I had.
A plate from a pottery shop we lived next door about thirty years ago.
The glass container for our one-cup expresso maker (about 35 years old and not used since then).
