Summer holiday - Italy

We are booked to go to Italy in August. To be honest, I just assumed it would be impossible and I would either be cancelled or be able to move it until next year. It's impossible to speak to the tour operator, and I am due to make the full payment in the next few weeks.

Now, however, it's announced that flights will be resuming and bars and restaurants in Italy are opening up. I am very fearful of going and can't imagine social distancing round the pool etc - any advice?

If we cancel or make adjustments to the booking we are 'subject to usual terms and conditions' according to the website and the rest of the family are sort of ok with it, but I am really not sure.

As things stand, if you can go would you then have to be in quarantine when you get back?

We're booked to go in August too. To stay with family though so it's only flights. Think we've pretty much decided we won't be going. DH's mum has a lot of health problems and is likely to remain cautious for a while yet.

Things will open but they've said beaches etc will need to be set up for social distancing.

At the moment Brits shouldn't have to quarantine in Italy from June but don't know about the return to the UK yet.

As massistar said, it's not clear yet I don't think, whether we'd have to quarantine on return but I guess that's the final decider.

Sit it out... I believe international travel will be cancelled for the foreseeable future. (My August holiday has been cancelled a few weeks ago- not Europe)
