2008 was a very memorable and bittersweet year for me - 2009 was the build up and 2010 was amazing. Anyway, just to pass the time during lockdown I've tried reading all the chat threads since 2008 in chronological order - even the boring ones - like:
did anyone find a blue used hanky in Dartford Woolies on Sunday18th May 2008? It has great sentimental value
(I know, I know but I'm trying to get through lockdown in one piece)
Anyway, one thing I've noticed is that back circa 2008/2009 - the Chat forum was full of threads like this - in similar vein and also MUCH more celeb talk. The difference now is that I feel that chat is much 'deeper' iyswim and although has some celeb threads has many more threads about complex personal issues and also much less of the eg
'where can i buy a cuddly Eyeore toy that squeaks as my DS lost his in Mc Donalds Great Yarmouth on 1st July 2008 and is devastated'
By the way, I think the change to deeper topics is a good one if it helps people find solutions to difficult social/emotional issues but I just wondered ..long term mumsnetters..do you agree with this description?
