So I have stop drinking coffee since I found out I'm pregnant but I'm so drained.... but like completely no energy...
What are your thoughts of 1 nespresso coffee a day? Am I been selfish ?

One cup of coffee is perfectly fine.

dementedpixie · 17/05/2020 12:27

There is no need to give up coffee. Caffeine should be limited to 200mg a day I think so you could maybe have a couple of cups of normal stuff. Would you drink caffeine free coffee alongside?

I can't speak for everyone but I drank coffee throughout (not excessively) and was fine. Although you might find you're still lacking energy due to pregnancy itself.

Longroadforgotten · 17/05/2020 14:43

I completely went off coffee and used to start my mornings with Pepsi Max instead Blush once the sickness went

Longroadforgotten · 17/05/2020 14:44

Posted too soon.... It was fine. Just don't drink excessively and I think one morning coffee would be fine.

TerrapinStation · 17/05/2020 14:50

If this was the advice when I was pregnant it passed me by, after the intial going off coffee and tea I carried on drinking it as normal. Obvioulsy my experience is anecdotal but it hasn't done my now teenage children any noticeable harm,

However, when I read threads on here about the current baby related advice it amazes me that things that were normal not many years ago now horrify today's new mums Grin

AnxietyForever · 17/05/2020 14:51

I have 2 coffees a day, currently 22 weeks :)

georgie279 · 17/05/2020 14:54

I had coffee and Diet Coke throughout, the ONLY thing I didn't have was pâté... I now have a very healthy & active 1 year old Grin

It's fine honestly Grin

starsinyourpies · 17/05/2020 14:56

It is fine within limits! Read the book 'expecting better' if you'd like a sensible overview based on research of all the advice!

Vanillaradio · 17/05/2020 16:06

I had one cup of coffee every single morning during pregnancy. Occasionally I had a diet coke as well. Ds fine and healthy.
Agree that the lack of energy could be coming from the pregnancy itself, never been so tired as I was during the first trimester.

Primrose89 · 17/05/2020 16:15

I had a coffee shop flat white or latte every single day in pregnancy, you're allowed 200mg of caffeine per day. Even if you exceed this the odd day it really wont matter. It's there to stop people drinking 20 red bulls a day lol

Obviously I'm not going t advocate anything but coffee and chocolate where the only things i could keep down when i.was having DD. She was calmest and chilled baby ever. She slept through from 3 months old..
