I don’t know why I’m posting this really.

I just can’t face the week ahead.

Why? Too much work, no work, the wrong work, family, illness, general despair....

WelcomeToTheNorth · 17/05/2020 09:55

Too much work. Huge work-related anxiety. Two children aged 5 and 2. Husband also trying to work full time. House is a mess. Kids won’t do as they are told and are becoming more and more lethargic.

Me too OP. I am miserable about having to go through next week. Groundhog Day.

Get outside if possible? It helps me anyway. And cut yourself slack with the housework, these are difficult days.

Thank you.
And thank you for the bumps. Much appreciated.

We went for a long walk. It’s helped slightly but I just feel overwhelmed and suffocated and trapped.

Well done for going out for the walk. It is difficult at the moment and you need to be very kind to yourself. You have 2 young children which at the best of times is really hard work.

I do hear you. I am fed up with the mess in the house and constant cajoling of my 8 year old, either to do schoolwork or tidy up - both of which she is extremely reluctant to do. I think all you can do at the moment is hold on and keep visualising that in about a month's time or so things will slowly start to ease and get back to normal(ish). Treat yourself in whatever way you can, whether that is ordering something nice for yourself online or asking your DH to take over the whole bed/bathtime routine and you have a relaxing bath and then watch a really nice film with some yummy food.
