I'm sat in bed with my coffee enjoying the peace
Doubt the cherubs will surface for quite a while Grin
Might toddle out for a nice peaceful walk in a bit before too many people are up
We have one more day to soak in the birthday hot tub Grin before the hire company collects it tomorrow Sad
Finish the crossword and relax before another week starts

One thing about lockdown that has been nice is the lack of traffic noise
I'm sat here listening to birdsong right in the middle of a city

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. Just had a wander to the egg stand locally, there's an honesty box, but no eggs. Fed the cat and poured myself a cup of coffee.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/05/2020 09:11

Bit cloudy here
Think Friday and yesterday were our sunny days

Very rainy here. I’ve got frozen pastries in the oven (Sunday treat).

I love the peace too. I heard a plane yesterday for the first time in a while and jumped, it seemed so out of place.

wowfudge · 17/05/2020 09:15

We live on an A road. It has definitely got busier over the last two weeks. Lots of motorcyclists going up to the Peak District at weekends - I saw five on my 200 yard walk. We're lucky to lots of trees, lots of birds including jays and a pair of buzzards. There are barn owls nearby too.

Goostacean · 17/05/2020 09:16

Got a chocolate sponge in the oven. Baby is asleep. Toddler is nagging me to go and play, but I’m hiding in the kitchen as am very tired (just started a thread on sleep training...). DH is in bed. Need to do some work for my business today, and have a birthday brunch on Zoom later for a friend. Will go for a walk, get some energy out of aforementioned toddler!

wowfudge · 17/05/2020 09:17

SummerNiiiiiights I saw so surprised to hear a plane last week that I looked on FlightRadar. A light aircraft was circling round and round Manchester Airport. DP thought it was probably someone building up their flying time while there's little air traffic.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/05/2020 09:22

We looked up the other evening and saw the vapour trails of a plane
It really seemed odd and comment worthy
Wouldn't have even noticed a few weeks ago

Wandered round the garden to see if my poppy had flowered, I love the surprise of of what colour it will turn out to be, I can just see the colouring on this one

No planes at all yesterday, then one went up and circled my house when I went to bed

We have homework from home school to do today. We never get through the set tasks for the week for my year 4 DC, because 2-3 days a week I go to work and they go to school where they don't do any school work ironically. One of the tasks was to make a Viking boat, which is the kind of thing that would be weekend homework in 'the old days (about 3 months ago!)' before school closed, so I decided it still could be. We can't get craft stuff out in the week usually because we use the kitchen table which is right next to where DH is working. There is also 'homework' for Brownies and Rainbows to be done. The house is a tip that will only get worse if we get the craft stuff out. I need to drag DC out for a walk as we haven't done that properly for a few days. I tried the other day but DC wouldn't agree on which way to go once we got to the park (it's a huge park) and refused to go the way the other wanted so we went home (pointless threat from me as they didn't care), so I need to find a solution that doesn't look like I am deciding where to go because then they complain that they are bored of going the same way all the time, and I just want to go out without an argument sometimes.

Bargainhuntbore · 17/05/2020 09:47

Everyone else in bed. Ive been up since 6 so went for a mountain 10k, breakfasr, tidy utility and kitchen. Gonna do a 20 mins yoga session, shower then chill till tea time. Fancy a long walk later on.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/05/2020 09:51

DH and I plan a trip to the recycling (need to rent a small van for that) and on our way back we'll drive by IKEA to get our bathroom furniture.(Germany here: masks, SD and limited numbers of shoppers / customers at any time)
So today - sort the storage room part 2 - we are almost done and there's space on the shelves. Why did we keep empty monitor boxes? And parts for a dishwasher that's long gone?
DD is working for uni.
DS is sorting his physics notes (the teacher wants to see them Grin ) and doing his biology homework.

We'll have tortellini for midday (no idea what the applicable English word is here).

Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/05/2020 10:34

I miss Ikea meatballs Grin

I'm in bed

The dc are playing minecraft

I'm thinking about getting up and putting scones on for breakfast.

Should do a walk later, Altho dog has an injured shoulder so it seems pointless walking without him! Also feel guilty leaving him and going out having a nice time! Silly really

lucysmam · 17/05/2020 10:46

@happypotamus if you have a printer & signed up for the free months on Twinkl, there's a printable Viking longboat model on there to cut & stick together. We printed it for a something to do :)

I'm the only one up here. The girls went to bed at the same time as me last night so will probably be in bed another hour or so.

I want to put another coat of paint on my kitchen door, and paint the last bit of skirting today. Dd1 will most likely Minecraft, read, and bounce around playing Just Dance.

Dd2 will Minecraft, huff about syncing her controller to dd1's xbox so she can play just dance then realise there's an app for it, and she did want to do a bit more of her paint by numbers so I'll see if she still does.

I might bake or make something for pudding too. But no idea what yet :)

DarylDixonsHair · 17/05/2020 10:55

I'm dying of a hangover! The dc went to their Dad's last night and I decided to try a gin cocktail (or three) Don't actually remember going to bed and had to check my phone to make sure I hadn't called or text anyone. It felt like the good old days! Grin

I'll crawl out of bed in a while and try to be productive.

WhoCaresAnyway95 · 17/05/2020 11:00

Still lying in bed my daughter is playing in her bedroom and my son is still snoring fast asleep in bed.

I've got into Ancestry.co.uk and keep creeping into the office to find out more. Need to get some housework done though, and hopefully a lovely long walk after lunch with the family.

DarylDixonsHair · 17/05/2020 14:50

@Hobnobswantshernameback Thank you! 😊 I've finally surfaced and made a To-do list. I think a dominoes is in order later.

I'm also hungover to fuck. I'm lying in the garden, hoping to convince DP to get a chippy tea later.
