When to cancel holiday?

When do we think holidays for the summer will be cancelled?

We are due to pay for our August holiday in a few weeks. We are not planning to go even if it were possible. We are prepared to lose our deposit but if I can get it back then I will.

Considering holding off to last minute to send written confirmation of cancellation but worried that I end up with a very large payment on my credit card.

Wondered what other people are doing?

Holiday is to Spain.

When is the full payment due?
Where in Spain? Islands I think will be open - mainland less likely.
We have a few days booked in Barcelona in August in early August - we’ve paid in full. I think there’s a chance we can go and if we could we would consider it.

Its due early next month. Its the Balaerics. I think we are pretty set in not going. Its a fair whack we still need to pay and the holiday won't be the same. We can't afford to be quarantined for 14 days too as need to go away again a few days later. (Within UK)

They'll be open, so if you don't want to go, tell them now. They may offer to move your deposit to next year.

They only have to refund you if they can't provide the holiday.
