Just want to vent

As the above.

My baby is 19 weeks old. My step mother has taken it upon herself to order my lb £500 worth of next clothes.

In the wrong size.

Because she was bored.

In styles I don't particularly want.

Or need.

And is now asking for money for the bits I want to keep. She has said "she will put some towards"

I never asked for them or insinuated we needed anything.

Argh!!

This belongs in the cheeky fucker thread, tell her you don't want any of it and to fuck off

user1498572889 · 16/05/2020 19:11

@houseplantlover
This exactly

misslockdown87 · 16/05/2020 19:13

@houseplantlover I'm glad I'm not overreacting. I was fuming when she ordered them and even more annoyed now I'm expected to pay.
I remember recently having a convo with her saying I prefer to shop at Next when there's a sale on as in general I think things can be expensive when a baby might only wear them once. Not sure if she's done it to get some sort of reaction out of me.

Just tell her to send it back. No, no and no.

misslockdown87 · 16/05/2020 19:17

I'm just not very good at saying that word. I know I know I need to grow a backbone.

I can't believe people are this rude?!
I honestly don't know what I would do if my mum was like this. You have my deepest sympathy!
As above, tell her to send them all back, and tell her very clearly you don't want her to do it anymore.

cooldarkroom · 16/05/2020 19:41

Get the receipt, return the goods, return the money.
Tell her if she does it again she can deal with it herself, she was told, she didnt listen.
Put a stop to this now, or it will be the same scenario for life.

misslockdown87 · 16/05/2020 20:05

It was my step mum, which is why it puts me in a funny position. Not my actual mum, my actual mum isn't anything like this.
It's all been done online on her account but I have politely said they are in the wrong size so we will see what happens next.

Thanks for the replies. Feels better to get it off my chest. I was saying to my better half "am I being ungrateful?"

You are not ungrateful, though it maybe your gratitude that she is after. Nip this in the bud now.

LittleTopic · 16/05/2020 21:13

Return them all. What a bonkers woman Confused

RandomMess · 16/05/2020 21:31

You are not being ungrateful at all.

If you want to buy clothes you go on line and choose and pay for what you want.

If she wants to waste her money buying unsuitable clothing as a gift then she can...

AntiSocialDistancer · 16/05/2020 21:51

Do NOT keep even one packet of vests.

Make it look like you've ruffled through it and say youve given it a good luck through and you dont need any of it.

She will be that annoyed at time wasted and money that wont get given back to her for 2 weeks she wont do it again.
