Why are people moaning about others being outside when they themselves are also clearly outside?

Just that really. All over my social media today are people "fuming" that everywhere is so busy and saying "it'll be the fault of these idiots if there's a second wave" etc. One person I follow was filming at a busy market in London and saying "LOOK HOW BUSY IT IS WHY IS EVERYONE SO STUPID". They seemed to fail to realise that they were also at the market Confused.

I mean unless these people live in the middle of high streets or beauty spots and they are watching from their windows.

Oh, but their reason for being there is always justified, usually”essential”

Elmerrrrrrrr · 16/05/2020 18:17

Yes this woman on Instagram who posted the market video hastened to say "before you say anything, I was there for essential shopping!"

OK, so maybe everyone else was too then!!!

What idiots! How can they judge others when they are doing the same, they can't know that everyone else isn't essential shopping too.

MrsSpenserGregson · 16/05/2020 18:33

Before Covid, it was traffic. People would complain about being stuck in traffic whilst being totally unaware that they were part of that traffic.

devildeepbluesea · 16/05/2020 18:34

Gets on my tits as well OP. I went walking today, where I walk almost every day, and where I will continue to walk after lockdown and it was much busier than usual. But there you go. It was a nice day and people wanted to enjoy the weather as is their right. And good on them. (Although I admit I'll be glad when it's nice and quiet again!)

Or Xmas shoppers, in the supermarkets piling up their trolleys. Commented on by people shopping for Xmas, piling up their trolleys.

imsooverthisdrama · 16/05/2020 18:37

Oh god I agree, it's like people expect to go out and nobody else out .

ItchyScratch · 16/05/2020 18:37

I use Strava (bit like Facebook for runners)
And all lockdown I’ve had friends post their runs and say stuff like “all the trails and paths are ridiculously busy it’s shocking, why won’t people stay home”

And I have to bite my tongue and sit on my hands to not point out how stupid they are for saying that.

enolagray · 16/05/2020 18:43

A neighbour (whose kids haven't been over their threshold since lockdown) asked me in a street what's app group 'good naturedly' was I worried about getting pulled over the trips I was making (shopping throughout the week for 2 families plus my own so essentially 9 adults) in addition to having seen me drive off at 8am 2 days this week when shopping hours were restricted to NHS/elderly so I couldn't have been shopping. My reply "ah, you mean Monday when I took my father to hospital for pre chemo bloods, and Tuesday for chemo? No, I'm not worried about getting pulled by anyone, including neighbours" Tumbleweed.

Back away you curtain twitching judgers

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 16/05/2020 19:03

Yes and the good few people looking at you in disgust as they go to join the end of the queue you are waiting in. I have taken to giving them a big beaming smile.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 16/05/2020 19:04

Really fucks them off!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 16/05/2020 19:06

The irony seems to pass them by
Twats

Elmerrrrrrrr · 16/05/2020 19:09

I just can't understand it. Have people forgotten how to think?

Yes.
Sad

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 16/05/2020 19:12

It is so weird isn’t it?

I was out For an “essential” trip and saw soooooooooooo many people, how dare they be out.

When all this is over I never want to see the word essential ever again

RubieRose · 16/05/2020 19:12

It's crazy isn't it! I have a friend on Facebook who frothing because she went to the park and other people were there.

Do they not realise that if they had stayed home, it would be less busy Confused

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/05/2020 19:13

Ive been quite saddened by just how utterly STUPID the majority of people are. Ive seen it on MN lots of times! Threads moaning about people being out whilst THEY themselves are out. Apparently this point just flies over their thick little heads- its really quite disheartening to realise just unbelievably dense and un-self aware most people are.

ohlookthisisjustdaftnow · 16/05/2020 19:25

There'll be people complaining about piles of horse manure on bridlepaths, and cows in fields next.

Oh wait...

imsooverthisdrama · 16/05/2020 19:26

I agree I want to scream now when I hear essential!!

Nicknacky · 16/05/2020 19:26

Or “key worker”

itchyfinger · 16/05/2020 19:29

We were talking a walk along a seaside promenade the other day, with a few other people walking around, all very far from each other, and someone drove past and shouted "GO HOME!" Out their window....Confused. Mate, you are literally not at home!!!

Gingerkittykat · 16/05/2020 19:38

I couldn't believe how busy the retail parks were when I was out earlier buying my gruel. Look at those stupid people queuing at KFC, don't they realise it is not essential food and they are going to have a multi car crash and divert all of the emergency services away from caring for Covid 19 patients.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 16/05/2020 20:38

My particular favourite on here was a poster who has been very very vocal about how stupid everyone is being not taking covid seriously, putting lives At risk etc

And then had a moan about going to a diy store (ive changed it slightly) and how busy it was because of all the stupid people putting lives at risk etc

Well what the fuck were you doing there then?
