In the market for another....do I go for another dyson or try Shark. Long hair killed off my Dyson so wondered if the Shark long hair model was a gimmik or actually worked....

Shark! I won’t get a Dyson again. I love my shark although my one gets clogged with hair quite frequently.

Following, if you don't mind, OP - the state of my house after several weeks of lockdown has had me spending far too much time pondering the same question!!

These threads appear regularly on MN.

You will get a pretty even split between the two with a handful of suggestions for other makes, most commonly Henry and Miele.

I have a Shark and am very happy with it.

I love love love my cordless shark. It doesn’t have quite the suction of the dyson but it more than makes up for that in convenience. And I hate James dyson for tax evasion and politics

I’ve never used a shark but our Hand held Dydon is pretty average.

Sebo, not cordless , but still a fantastic cleaner! Easy to maintain and doesn’t fall apart like a dyson!

CarolFuckingBaskinsPetCat · 16/05/2020 16:36

I have a cordless Dyson, Shark and corded Henry Xtra 😂

They're fine. My Shark is heavier than the Dyson. Henry is the best for heavy duty..Dyson is grand for a quick whizz round a day or two after Henry has done his thing 🤷🏽‍♀️

I bough the cordless shark at beginning of lockdown ... it's brilliant!

Shark all the way. Never going back.
