Hot tub question

Alakazam8 · 16/05/2020 12:47

Hi tried and failed to find this info by googling so wondered if anyone could advise. Would love to get a hot tub but only have grass which can’t be changed. Is there anything I can get that would enable me to still have a hot tub.
Also how much do they cost to run each month on average please?

What sort of hot tub do you have in mind? You could possibly have an inflatable hot tub on grass if the ground was level. You will need an outdoor socket.

A bigger, heavier hot tub needs to be on concrete or paving.

Not sure how much ours costs to run to be honest, we have the lay z spa Miami, with good chemical control the water lasts 6 weeks or so before a refill.

We use ours during the day it’s great, we have had ours a couple of years, it is really good and would recommend.

Be prepared for the anti hot tub brigade OP, they are quite a few on here! 😂

You can put it on grass. The grass underneath will die. Also, you lose quite a bit of heat through the bottom of the tub so it’s better if you put it on a mat - those foam squares they sell as kids playmats would work.

Cost to run? I do not know yet. Less than the cost of the summer holiday we aren’t going to have now!

Thanks for that advice. Will look into matting for it and get an outdoor socket fitted!
