What's everyone up to today?

I need to re-grout the bottom two rows of tiles in my bathroom (around the bath), after the plumber couldn't actually find a leak last weekend, but suggested that might help with the "raining" on the stairs even though the bath was only fitted 2 years ago. If not, we're back to square 1.

The girls had Just Dance delivered yesterday so are likely to spend at least some of the day playing that. They're still sleeping atm after sitting singing along to many many musical videos on Youtube last night while I tried to read my book.

I need to look at my Risk Assessment for my Guides trip to Kingswood which they have re-scheduled for the moment (whether or not it will go ahead, I don't know) and get that sent off to my Division Commissioner.

I might put some washing on too; it's windy outside so should blow dry.

Not a clue what's for tea yet; I have leftover Chinese takeaway from last night, so might have that and see if the girls fancy a picnic tea of some sort.

What about you lot? :)

Oh yes of course I forgot 'the derby' is on ....

HotSauceCommittee · 16/05/2020 12:37

I'm the same, aliceinsunderland44, I'm thinking, "What's the point?".

aliceinsunderland44 · 16/05/2020 12:42

@HotSauceCommittee I've been feeling like this a lot lately. Some days are better than others. When the kids are at their dads I can quite easily spend a day doing nothing with no guilt but they are home this weekend I really feel like I should be making an effort to do something with them. Just so fed up of all this now. I actually seem to function better during the week when we have the routine of work and home schooling to contend with....but then I complain about that too....

TwentyViginti · 16/05/2020 12:44

Im fed up because I'm bored but can't quite find the energy to do anything...

This is me. Traipse around local streets? Nah, depressing. Walk to local shops? Don't need anything and again depressing to see the little cafes and local pubs closed.

Seriously fed up now. In normal times I'd take the bus into town, have a browse of charity shops, coffee in a pub or cafe, moan about the crowds!

I don't drive, so I'm really stuck, as we are told not to use public transport unnecessarily, so would feel guilty going for a bus ride for a change of scene!

Not in the mood for sorting, cleaning or cooking or even pampering. Feel like a bored and grumpy teen!

I've made a cheese & onion quiche and a cheese & bacon quiche. Going to see if I can get the ingredients for a strawberry custard tart later.

DS is loving lockdown because I'm doing most of the cooking again. DH isn't a bad cook by any means but I add a lot more flavour & seasoning than he does and have more ideas what to cook.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/05/2020 14:51

Ugh. I've had to restart the second bootie after messing it up, and DH mowed over the same plant he mows over several times a year, despite me making it bloody obvious it was there. I'm now in a foul mood.

The rest of the household is about to go out so I'm hoping to regain my zen during their absence. With the help of chocolate.

gingercat02 · 16/05/2020 17:22

@Lucysmam it was lovely but the queue was huge (and it was a bit windy)

GrouchyKiwi · 16/05/2020 19:34

I got the little booties finished. They've turned out OK, I think.

What's everyone up to today?
lucysmam · 17/05/2020 21:13

@GrouchyKiwi I didn't see you'd posted a picture last night. They're very sweet, I'm sure they'll be appreciated (you kind of forget just how dinky baby things actually are as they get older)

I am working on losing weight and getting fit, and today i went for a walk around my local park with my mum. I put 15kg of weights in my backpack and walk a few laps, my mum dosen't have any weight in hers and we walked 6 kilometres and i burnt over 650 calories according to my HRM/Fitness watch (not fitbit lol)....so that was fun. it's not fun getting changed out of the sweaty t-shirt afterwards though Blush

GrouchyKiwi · 18/05/2020 15:01

Thanks @lucysmam, My friend's baby still hasn't arrived so I'm hoping I can drop the booties & hat around today so she can take them with her.

@HiHoAstonVilla That's a great effort.
