Do you have a milkman/woman?

I'd always bought milk from the supermarket or local shops if I was running low but when Covid hit and I couldn't get an online delivery, I signed up with the local dairy. It's been great. They only deliver three times a week whereas it was daily when I was a child. They sell milks, cream, eggs, juice and another local dairy also does bread.

I'd have never done this if it wasn't for covid and it's got me wondering if others have done the same?

Yes! We were on a waiting list and our names came up a month ago.

So good to buy local milk, cream, butter, eggs and cheese.

It's not something I'd considered before lockdown as the last time (30years ago) I used a local milkman the bottles were left at 7.30 and I left for work at 7. So the milk was warm and horrid by 5pm.

It means we can last extra days before groceries are needed.

I have 3 teenagers so milk delivery essential! 3 times a week and I've added eggs in too as DS1 has a 4 egg omelette every morning for breakfast Shock

I might change to glass bottles. Mine delivers both. At the moment I'm probably ordering too much milk for me as I only use it for tea. The dc use a lot of it though for cereal. A glass bottle will confuse them completely seeing as dd1 thought delivered milk in plastic bottles might somehow be different to shop bought plastic bottlesGrin I'm tempted to get full fat milk too just so they can see the cream on top.

Ours deliver at around 3am. My mum and dad's used to deliver around 11pm which was useless in the summer. I'm funny about milk and wouldn't drink it if it had been on the step for more than a few hours and wasn't cold.

I don't know when ours delivers. There used to be someone who delivered to the neighbours at about 3am in a noisy diesel van, but this one seems to be silent.
