Any good board games we can all play. A 14 and 6 year old.
We like scatergories, frustration, family fortunes.
Any ideas?

Ticket to Ride Europe is good

Pumperthepumper · 16/05/2020 08:37

Ticket to Ride, any of them, but the London one is good because it’s fast.

Landlubber2019 · 16/05/2020 08:38

Qwirkle is a good one, we also enjoy catan and risk which are a bit old for your youngest. Have you tried clued?

Settlers of Catan (though 6yo probably too young to play alone)
Cluedo
Scattegories
Articulate
Bananagrams

Tempjob · 16/05/2020 08:43

Scrabble junior and monopoly junior

Labyrinth but this is for two players

Pipandmum · 16/05/2020 08:43

We've played a few games of Cluedo. Game of Life is good too. Pictionary is great.

NC10101 · 16/05/2020 08:46

Depends how good your 6yo is?

Five second rule is a good one for younger kids

eosmum · 16/05/2020 08:46

We’ve loved dobble.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 16/05/2020 08:54

Sushi go, exploding kittens, dobble, catan, carcassone, through the desert, azul, dinosaur island, pandemic, tsuro, takenoko, tokaido.

The London Game with a bit of help perhaps?

Sleeping Queens is a great one for the 6 year old.

SabrinaThwaite · 16/05/2020 09:36

Jaipur, Ticket to Ride, Azul. I had The London Game growing up in the 1970s so good to know it’s still around.

LazyDaisy10 · 16/05/2020 09:41

Thanks for replies, ticket to ride sounds popular, I've never played it. Would you say the London game or ticket to ride is better?I suppose the 6 year old could team up with one of us if it was too difficult! I had forgotten about cluedo I think we have it somewhere

Is ticket to ride any good for 2 players?

PaddyF0dder · 16/05/2020 09:46

Another vote for ticket to ride. What a phenomenal game.

Also:

  • Lords of Waterdeep
  • Pandemic (maybe not quite for a 6 year old)
GingerbreadBiscuits00 · 16/05/2020 09:49

We love cluedo (well I do) and exploding cats. My teen likes monopoly but its not my fav. Also like cash and guns.

fairyfingers · 16/05/2020 09:52

We are refusing to play pandemic at the moment!

Love ticket to ride (I am undefeated).

Takenoko is fun - we got that recently and you get to move a panda!

Forbidden Island is good too - collaboration game so good for the 6 year old as you play together. Forbidden Desert too.

palindromeam · 16/05/2020 09:54

@Rosiejim ticket to ride works for 2. We play 2 handed quite a lot. There's very slightly adapted rules.

SheldonSaysSo1 · 16/05/2020 09:54

The game of life
Blockus
Dobble
Yahtzee

wheeltrims · 16/05/2020 10:16

We are loving Sorry and Hotel Tycoon in our house as well as Dobble. But I have been looking for some new ideas too so stealing some of these suggestions for sure.

Serendipitystardust · 16/05/2020 10:19

For those recommending ticket to ride, would you suggest starting with the junior version? I have a 7 and 9 year old and have seen this recommended dozens of times but want to make sure that we can all play at least fairly equally. Thanks.
