Mine is now a teen but at that age loved her little ball pit so much, she shook with excitement the first time she went in! Such a gorgeous age, enjoy 😍

DS is 15 months, was almost 1 at Christmas time last year. He loved any kind of stacking/sorting toys, as well as lift-the-flap and make-a-sound books

BekindStayhome · 15/05/2020 21:40

She absolutely loved a really chunky version of those shape sorting games. It had animals and was easily the present she liked best - and kept using for months. And yes, also lift the flap books.

Happyland. And still plays with it at 6, as does the 3yo little sister and every child who visits, even a 15yo boy!!

KTCluck · 15/05/2020 21:44

Tomy Toomies eggs. They kept her occupied for ages at 1 and she still likes them at 3.

My 19 month old is loving her Toot Toot and Happyland sets at the moment

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/05/2020 21:48

Happyland Teapot with a little mouse family

A Little Tykes rocking horse

Stacking cups, wooden building blocks

A basket of "real" stuff - an old CD, a shower shmushy, dried pasta in a plastic bottle, an old remote control (no batteries) etc.

Hide and squeak eggs. Never met a kids who didn’t LOVE them

mogtheexcellent · 15/05/2020 21:59

The tomy eggs. I didn't buy them for DD so she sadly missed out but she obsessively played with them at playgroup and she still heads straight for them at her cousins even though shes nearly 6.

SamSeabornforPresident · 15/05/2020 22:01

DD isn't a huge fun of toys as she'd rather pull her big sister's hair, but her favourite is her toot toot vehicles.

bluechameleon · 15/05/2020 22:03

As well as the Tomy eggs which everyone has mentioned, the Galt jumping wooden people are also great. Mine also loved the Grapat Nins and Plan dinosaur cars at that age.

whatswithtodaytoday · 15/05/2020 22:07

Galt pop up toy - he crows with delight when he spots it.

Any small animal shape he can carry around - plastic or wood.

Pegs

Big board books with lots of pictures (he cannot be trusted to be left with lift the flap books, though he does love them too)

The Schlec animal figurines are pricier than most but last forever. And they really are very very nice.
