Is this normal for showers?

We’ve not long moved house.
When we turn the shower on (shower enclosure in en-suite and it’s a mixer shower) then the water takes up to 5 minutes to come out.
It drips a small amount in the run up to coming out properly but that’s it.
When it does start then it’s perfect temperature immediately and the flow is fine.
Do some showers have sensors or something so the water doesn’t come out until it’s the correct temperature, or is this not normal?
When we run it on the coldest setting the water comes through immediately.
Any advice please?
It’s a Mira if that helps.

One friend suggested problem with the water pressure, although the taps everywhere are fine.
Another friend said could be a sensor that doesn’t allow shower to run until it’s at the desired temp, but I’ve never heard of this before.
