What’s Happening In Your House?

Chilling out. DH about to put his homemade loaf in the oven, after which I can heat up some Indian snacks as a starter ( we will have our curries later). DD doesn’t seem bothered about having tea, although bless her she was a bit sick earlier. Reckon it could be too much drink as apparently whilst I was out shopping she mixed coke with flavoured sparkling water & knocked it back. She’s now sitting in the summerhouse, which is being done up as a bolt hole for her, no doubt still on her phone even though she’s had her time for today. Boundaries are a tad blurred during lockdown! I am seriously thinking of returning to work. Been off since just before lockdown. My DF made me think today when he said I would probably be safer at work than when I was shopping in the supermarket ( I work on a checkout & they have put screens up plus other safety measures throughout the store). I must admit I have missed the job, my colleagues & of course the money! I may go back when DD returns to school, although of course we’ll have to wait & see how that pans out. She’s in Year 6 so it’s important to have the transition to secondary school, especially as she struggles & will need support.

I'm painting the fence today, when I can actually be arsed to stop drinking tea and perusing mumsnet....I am literally going to watch paint dry!!!!

mogloveseggs · 16/05/2020 09:57

Last night I had a brilliant video chat with my closest friends. Really perked em up just what I needed.
Today at the moment Ds is watching YouTube, dh and I are watching Gogglebox and starting to think about getting on with the day.

YahBasic · 16/05/2020 10:00

We’re still in bed, I’ve just had a shower & will go down to make birthday American pancakes for DH in about half an hour/whenever I can be arsed to get dressed.

lachy · 16/05/2020 10:00

I'm still my pyjamas, and need to get my bum in gear. DH and I have got a long list of jobs to do, and so we'll probably spend most of the day pottering about before collapsing in a heap on the sofa tonight.

troppibambini · 16/05/2020 10:00

Sat on the sofa drinking coffee, youngest two are watching Henry Danger. Dh in bed still, eldest dd in bed still, other dd is in her room watching some shite on YouTube.
Debating what to make for dinner tonight...
We will all go for a walk in a bit.

EsmeeMerlin · 16/05/2020 10:01

We tend to keep mornings lazy here to keep them different from Monday-Friday. At the moment I am laying in bed trying to wake up properly. I feel knackered. Ds1 is having his Xbox time as he does every Saturday morning. Ds2 is playing with his toys and dh is making a cooked breakfast, we have not had one for ages.

Last night I just played the sims when the children were in bed. Dh does late shifts so was not in from work til half 10.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 16/05/2020 10:01

Just woke youngest son (7) up to give him antibiotics for his tooth abscess and he’s gone straight back to sleep, he must be feeling rough poor guy.

Oldest son is also asleep and probably won’t be up until noon.

I’m going to make some fluffy pancakes and sort some washing out, dh is at work and the dog is following me around/intermittently trying to hump me as he enjoyed his breakfast so much.

QueenOfCatan · 16/05/2020 10:02

3yo is raiding the fridge, 1yo is watching Sarah and duck, DH is upstairs showering and I'm trying to study as I'm 6 weeks behind on my degree 😭

CherryPavlova · 16/05/2020 10:05

Drinking tea in bed and chatting with our daughter. Husband is out running. Will read papers in a minute.
Then do a bit of data work, write a bit more of my books.
Meeting other daughter for a distanced walk later. Bake bread and sew a few more masks for neighbours and family.
Big curry night with family and friends for a birthday.

Kim82 · 16/05/2020 10:06

I’m sitting on the sofa in my dressing gown drinking tea, eldest and youngest daughters are watching the Dora movie, middle daughter is in her room probably FaceTiming her friends , dh and ds are both at work.

Jacalouse · 16/05/2020 10:08

Had too much wine last night, currently sitting in bed with a cuppa and a cheese toastie. Youngest in bed with us and her ipad 🙄 hubby looking at expensive houses on Rightmove. Oldest daughter and fiance still in bed wont surface til around 2pm. Not planning on getting up any time soon. 😌

bonzo77 · 16/05/2020 10:11

In bed. Having eaten cold toast and coffee left in thermos by my bed by DH when he went to work 2 hours ago. Youngest two watching tv. Oldest one in his room FaceTimeing his friends. Need to get up, clean out the pet rats’ cage, her oldest to finish his homework and I need to clean the oven. Boak.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 16/05/2020 10:15

DDs watching Bitesize Daily (DH had his first week off since Christmas, so had a bit of a lazy week). DH in bed. I'm mustering up the courage to go for a 'run' (aka looking like an elephant moving at -10 miles an hour and sounding like a steam train)

ipswichwitch · 16/05/2020 10:15

The kids are actually playing nicely together - I’m making the most of it, it won’t last! DH still in bed, having a lie in as his sleep has been so bad lately. Plan for today is to plant hydrangeas I got when I went to Lidl, get all the washing done, clean the house, FaceTime DM, and make burritos with cheesy nachos for tea.

MinkowskisButterfly · 16/05/2020 10:18

I'm laid on bed on phone with 5yr old singing away next to me, dd1 (17) is in her room and DH is at work.

My plans today are fill out a mountain of paper work, attend a virtual training session, finish making a puppet theatre with dd2 and print out some artwork.

SnowsInWater · 16/05/2020 10:50

Evening here in Aus. DH and I have the house to ourselves for the first time since our lockdown started mid March. DD and DS2 have gone to stay the night with their big brother, restrictions have been rolled back from yesterday so that is fine. DH is cooking me scallops and duck confit for dinner and I am sitting by the fire browsing MN with a glass of red wine. The silence is bliss!

Zisforstripyoss · 16/05/2020 10:53

DDs are still in pyjamas watching films - they had a "sleepover" in the oldest's room last night, so they're tired as can be!

DH is still in bed - he stayed up on the playstation drinking last night and I don't know what time he came to bed but heard him vomming in the loo in the middle of the night, so don't know what time he'll surface.

I've done a bit of cleaning and I'm about to go on a run.

Sereneren · 16/05/2020 11:04

Ive been for a run, probably looking like @Aroundtheworldin80moves twin. I've now got a migraine so Dp went to the shop to get me full fat coke because the painkillers weren't working. Now he's painting the dining room, me and DD are watching TV and D's is still in bed.

happypotamus · 16/05/2020 11:17

I am a Guide leader who should have been on Guide camp this weekend, so we are doing virtual Guide camp via Zoom today. We did a camp fire on Zoom last night, encouraged the girls to sleep in tents or dens they built last night and today we are doing a Zoom meeting with an activity every few hours. I am also looking after my own 2 DC, who are supposed to be joining in with the activities even though they aren't old enough, but actually screamed at each other during the Zoom meeting because one was wearing a pair of gloves the other wanted to wear and didn't join in. They are now watching tv. I am exhausted, because it was a long week and I slept on the floor in a 'tent' made from a clothes horse with a duvet cover over the top (actually I gave up at about 3am and got into my bed and made sure I got up earlier than DC so they believe in slept in my tent all night). DH has gone for a very long bike ride in peace and quiet without anyone screaming at him. I also need to come to a decision about DC2 going back to school on 1st June so I can reply to the school's email.

BearSoFair · 16/05/2020 11:21

We've all been for an hour's walk at the park this morning.
I'm now browsing online with a coffee and trying to remember what it was we were going to order on Amazon today. It was the last thing DH and I spoke about before going to sleep but we've both forgotten what it was now!
DH is about to mow the lawn.
DS1 is facetiming his girlfriend.
DD is looking at needle felting videos on Youtube.
DS2 is doing some of his puzzle book.

lauryloo · 16/05/2020 11:25

I'm in hospital with my 2 week old Who is recovering from sepsis

Hoping we get home tomorrow. Missing my 4 and 6 year olds so much

mogloveseggs · 16/05/2020 12:03

Whattheduck · 16/05/2020 12:10

On the sofa after falling down the stairs top to bottom this morning whilst carrying the laundry basket so feeling bruised and sore
Dh is popping out to get some bits from Sainsbury’s shortly and Dd is doing online dance classes until 15.00 then she’s meeting a friend to go for a walk
I’m planning on making a curry for tea tonight then will probably watch a film

maddiemookins16mum · 16/05/2020 12:11

Listening to Graham Norton, two loads of washing to hang out. Quick tidy through needed. I’ve cleaned the fridge out too.
DP is model making and watching CSI. DD has gone out on a bike ride.
DMIL is knitting blankets for the local cat rescue in her room listening to Dusty Springfield. She’s doing Spanish tortilla in crusty rolls for lunch soon.
I’m getting in the bath once the washing is out.
We’re having an Indian Takeaway tonight and watching the BBC for their Eurovision offering.
