Flash magic sponge. It's witchcraft. Wear gloves though, cos it will wreck your fingertips!

HG mould spay.

DonLewis · 15/05/2020 16:38

Before lockdown I bought some cif spray that I've never seen before. It's the bees knees! I've scrubbed that sodding grout with everything before now. I sprayed this on, left it a couple of hours and it was all back to white. £2 from pound land.

Dettol Mould and Mildew remover is really good

cantdothisnow1 · 15/05/2020 16:40

Oh just added the Flash Magic Sponge & marigolds to Ocado order for next week. Not tried those.

Astonish mould and mildew spray.

No rubbing or scrubbing just spray on and leave.

pinkrocker · 15/05/2020 16:45

The magic sponges are usually £3 for 3 in Tesco etc, B&M often have them on special offer if you look out for them.

cantdothisnow1 · 15/05/2020 16:48

I've tried the Astonish spray and it didn't work.

I'm stuck with Ocado prices as I'm not brave enough to venture out into the real world yet, thanks for the tips on where to buy from in the future though. Fingers crossed it works!

I got some HG mould spray from amazon last week, it’s lightened the mould from black to grey in one session (left it on overnight). Will give it another go tonight - my Fridays evenings have always been this thrilling!

GreyGardens88 · 15/05/2020 17:05

I tried everything to get rid of it in my last rented flat before I left. It was so engrained in the sealant in the end if threw neat bleach all over it and the day after it was gone

Merename · 15/05/2020 17:08

Wow I always thought it was not possible To remove fully once it had really set in, so a few times in various homes have just cut it out and resealed it myself, it’s quite easy. So that’s an option if no joy. Will try some of these out though!

monkeyonthetable · 15/05/2020 17:09

I use neat bleach. Paint it on with a toothbrush. By the time you have finished putting it on, the first grouting you brushed is ready to be rinsed and brilliant white as good as new again, no scrubbing required. But wear really old clothes as the bleach can splash when you rinse it off.

Raera · 15/05/2020 17:43

Cilit bang black mould spray worked well. Spray on, leave, rinse off

goingtotown · 15/05/2020 17:58

Soak toilet tissue in bleach & push it into the sealant, leave overnight. Wear rubber gloves for obvious reasons.

CatBatCat · 15/05/2020 18:59

Wilcos own mould mildew spray. It's better than the HG stuff and half the price. You won't find it in the cleaning aisle, it's with the decorating things like silicone sealants and Unibond dehumidifier things.

CatsMother66 · 15/05/2020 19:07

Another vote for HG mould spray. May take a few applications but it will do the job. Ventilate well as it’s very strong smelling

1forAll74 · 15/05/2020 19:12

HG black mold spray is good, It's a bit foamy, but just spray on leave for a bit, then wipe off with cloth or sponge.

MrMeeseekscando · 15/05/2020 19:23

HG products are absolutely amazing.
HG mould spray and HG blue especially

H1978 · 15/05/2020 19:54

Cif mould spray is excellent but strong stuff so be careful when using

Thelaughinggnome123 · 15/05/2020 19:59

I've tried neat black and the dettol stuff did absolutely feck all on the sealant. Anything works on thr grouting.
So does the HG mould remover definitely work on the plastic sealant?

Todayissunny · 15/05/2020 19:59

A paste of bleach and bicarbonate of soda packed on and left for a while. Then wash off.

ReturnofSaturn · 15/05/2020 20:05

I do the toilet paper soaked in bleach and left on overnight.

toastedcrumpetsforme · 15/05/2020 20:11

Cilit Bang - Black Mould spray. It's amazing, I used it to rescue a damp mouldy playhouse and it came up lovely with no scrubbing. Spray on, leave for 15 minutes then wipe off.

Wear gloves and roll your sleeves up, my sleeve soaked up some of the spray and I ended up with a little burn where it was resting on the skin for a while.
