How did I get so unfit....

I’m 43 and overweight - but not ridiculously so. I knew I was out of shape but I didn’t realise quite how bad it was as I live in London and regularly walk places.

I recently bought a bike with the intention of cycling to work when lockdown is over (original huh?). I just took it 3 times around the block - one of the roads quite an incline - and I had to stop to recover twice and now I’m home I’m sweating and shaking.

How can I ever get back to fitness from this low?!

there is a cycle plan here for complete beginners. get a waterbottle holder to attach to your bike, and drink water every mile or so, to keep hydrated

I think your body will soon adjust. My fitness is different with different activities. I can run six miles every day, no problem, do planks etc. However, did the vacuuming this afternoon and I'm worn out! 😬 Back is a bit achey. Different muscles I guess.
