Front doors

It’s become painfully obvious now we are at home all the time that our front door isn’t up to the job. The various draft proofing measures we’ve tried haven’t worked and the downstairs is at least 10degrees colder than upstairs. I’m working wrapped in blanket and thermals in the dining room while everyone else is in T-shirt’s in the bedrooms.

Does anyone know of any good door companies? Our house has recently been put into a conservation area so we need to keep a wooden Victorian/Edwardian door style, however it’s a small terraced house on a dual carriageway so there is no point spending £££ on it as it’s not worth it, although I suspect the whole frame will need doing. However I do need to be warm - or at least not have a howling gale rush through the house!

I'm in Kent and my house is old - nothing is a standard size. We're having to have a new front door made by a carpenter.
It's going to be a brilliant improvement on the draughty thin old one but it's going to cost £1200!
