Any Titanic (movie) buffs out there?

Random question - does anybody know how many minutes into the movie the iceberg scene is?
And how much of the movie is left after this scene until the end?
Thanks!

I've been to the Titanic graveyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There really was a passenger called Jack Dawson, his grave is there. The tour guide told us that people she'd had on tours before would sob over the grave as though Leonardo DiCaprio was actually in it. She looked so absolutely bemused as she said it that I laughed on and off for the rest of the tour, which lasted all day in various parts of Nova Scotia, whenever I thought of her face.

@hippohector yes the Leonardo one. Also strangely enough DH's great aunt was on board the actual Titanic.

Sex scene is before

Like literally before the iceberg

If it's a history lesson thing the early scene is good for showing a graphic of the ship sinking (I often use that clip) then I cut to Southampton docks where you see how different classes are treated (ie third class being checked for lice, first class with all their. Luggage, then you get a nice third class, first class accommodation contrast) then I cut to the actual hitting the iceberg bit. Never use any bits after - not helpful in teaching and learning as all very focused on the jack/rose story

this
might be useful, it's from the website of the museum in Belfast. Has all sorts of little bits of information that might be of interest.

@notimagain when my mom and I went to see it in theaters, my pap said "hey... Sorry to ruin for you, but the ship sinks" 🤣🤣

There's a good you-tube interview with a survivor named Eva Hart who was 7 years old at the time.

GreenTeaMug · 15/05/2020 17:09

gumball when we went to see it my dad said ' Let me tell you how it ends'.

ChinookPilotsGoVertical · 15/05/2020 17:24

James Cameron has some great stuff on YouTube about the actual sinking & how the ship broke up etc

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/05/2020 17:39

It was the first ship to send out 'SOS' when in distress.

I'm related to the leader of the orchestra Wallace Hartley Smile which is why DS is so obsessed as he recently found this info out.

My great grandad's friend died on the titanic. He had been given the tickets as a wedding present as sailing to America was something he'd always wanted to do. His wife survived. I don't know any more than that about it and not does anyone else still alive.

PuppyMonkey · 15/05/2020 18:55

I think you could show him the iceberg bit then fast forward straight to the bit after jack has got out of the handcuffs and they’ve managed to get up on deck. It gets quite exciting and good by then...

Quirrelsotherface · 15/05/2020 19:13

Yeah there's an hour of sinking so I'd say 2 hours in
