Fireworks at 8pm??

For the last three or four weeks my newish neighbour has let off fireworks at 8pm. Also at 9pm last Friday for the queen's speech. Anyone else seeing this kind of thing? He also has a massive flag poll with an England flag and ironically isn't social distancing so might be that he's just a bit of a prat.

Someone let off fireworks round here at 8pm today. Such a waste, I don't like them anyway but in broad daylight? Idiotic.

FishingPaws · 14/05/2020 22:37

Yep, the ones that sound like thunderclaps so at least the pretty ones aren't being wasted. They're loud, obnoxious and wake every child/dog/etc in the area!

whoami24 · 14/05/2020 22:46

Yep, loud bangers here, frightened the cat under a bush, took ages to coax her out. But apart from that no one claps on our street. Think it's ridiculous now and it's people showing off now, thank goodness we haven't got drum kits, guitar etc.

yes we have fireworks every week, drives my animals mental. What i want to know is what sort of people keep fireworks at home, just in case... i personally think they should be banned apart from at organised displays - im generally not a fan!

Totally. Our dog goes bonkers. I really feel like asking him (the neighbour, not the dog) to stop but would only cause trouble. It's crazy in broad daylight. He had his banjo out and drum kit for the kids for the first few weeks before starting with the fireworks. Sure the NHS would rather he just stopped mixing with people than have him set off fireworks for them.

Hate them. My cat hid under the bed at 8 last night and wouldn’t come out for an hour.
