So went for my appointment at 36+3 and was measuring 34 she then said al see you at 38+3 and see if anything has changed went today and still measuring 34. So she is sending me for a growth scan made it sound positive that it would be tomorrow but got a call and not till Monday so now am left over the weekend hoping everything will be okay. She has mentioned the fluid might not be right etc! Anyone had this?

Dd2 was measuring about 29 at that stage. She measure low all the way up, and engaged early.
She was nearly 7lb.

I measured very small and was sent for a growth scan. I remember finding it hilarious telling people I was nearly at my due date and the shock on their faces, because I never looked like I was past 30 weeks.

I was worried about my growth scan and had to wait nearly a week, but it was totally fine. The sonographer said it's actually quite rare for her to find an issue on a growth scan and most of the time its just down to your body and the way you're carrying and I found that reassuring. My baby was just over 7lb in the end, a very average size. I just had him tucked away in there!

If baby has dropped, it’s very normal for measurements to be off from about 36 weeks.

I was measuring 32 weeks at 37. It put the fear of god into me. She came out fine at 7lb 2.

I was measured initially by tape then had a scan which confirmed things were fine.

BendingSpoons · 14/05/2020 20:56

Please don't worry, it's probably fine. I was measuring 6 weeks behind with my first. How the baby is lying can affect it, along with other factors like your height (if you are taller you can measure smaller as there is more room).

I had regular growth scans every fortnight due to previous babies being tiny. She measured small throughout but nothing that was unusual for me iyswim. I had an appointment at hospital clinic and midwife measured me, and was quite alarmed as I was measuring about 34weeks, ( I was 38+5). She then did a Doppler and wasn’t happy so sent me for an immediate scan, where my measurements were coming out as 33+1, and Cord flow was reduced from previous scans, baby seemed ok though thankfully. I was sent for induction, however wards were busy so monitored. I ended up being induced at 39+2 and she weighed 4lbs10oz, she spent 10 days in neo natal and transitional cate but was fine.

I had similar in my 4th pregnancy too, and despite measuring approximately 35 weeks at 38+2 he was born weighing 6lbs at 38+3 and very healthy.
All my scans through 4 pregnancies have been inaccurate, all done by the same sonography who is a family friend and joked how bad I used to make her scanning look on the ward notes.

I remember being measured with DC1, and the GP had a student in the room and said to them 'I don't know why we do this anymore as you can convince yourself it's accurate by a good few inches either way'.

Winegumaddict · 14/05/2020 22:43

I never measured bigger than 34 I gave birth at term both times and both babies were over 8lb. I had many growth scans and there was no explanation either time. Try not to worry I know it's easier said than done. Just monitor your movements as you would anyway and try to relax if at all possible.

I measured fine for my whole pregnancy then when DD dropped down into my pelvis and I suddenly measured a lot smaller. I think I went from 38cm down to 33 ish. Then the next week week (39+1 weeks pregnant) I had grown a little back to 35cm. I was asked if I would like a scan to check her growth, which was fine. I didn’t have a lot of fluid but there was enough. And I went in labour the next day. DD was born on the 50th percentile, so completely average.

Thanks everyone for letting me know all your story's starting to feel abit better think cause she was determined I would be going today for my scan and said if the fluid wasn't enough I'd get induced right away so kinda got into my head I was having this little one this weekend. Been having cramps for over 2 weeks bad pelvic pain etc. So was ready to have her. But tbh the past 2 days my groin pain has been so sore. Since yesterday I think I have been loosing my mucas plug ( didn't loose this last time till my waters actually broke) last night and this morning it's had a little bit pink through it. Did any one loose there mucas plug and how long did things take to kick off?
