What does she do all day

I'm talking about Molly Weasley. All her kids are in boarding school or left home. She has magic to help with chores. Seriously? The only wizard shops/cafes seem to be in specific areas and since she doesn't get muggle money/clothes I doubt she's at Costa or shopping. They don't seem to have a tv so no cinema either I suppose.
Perhaps wizard children are homeschooled but once Ginny starts Hogwarts Surely she could get a job and then maybe they wouldn't be so poor.

She must be doing something, she's very perky!

MobLife · 14/05/2020 15:50

De-gnoming the garden is a manual job though and sure to need daily attention

ItchyScratch · 14/05/2020 15:51

She makes LIVE LAUGH LOVE pictures frames to sell on Facebook market place

Maybe she parti pates in the witch version of an MLM? A jumper knitting one possibly

PeppaisaBitch · 14/05/2020 15:53

She would totally do that. She could sell her knitted jumpers too.

I think the magic can't be left alone. Certainly there's one scene where she was using her wand to do stuff. It's not like having house elves, more like a replacement for electrical goods.

I've often thought that she should have started a skin-care line to sell in Holland and Barrett. Not actually using magic on Muggles, oh no Minister, just using potions knowledge to create stuff that has as much effect as half the creams in the shops already...

PeppaisaBitch · 14/05/2020 16:02

But even if she can't leave magic alone how much does she really need to do to run a household for just her and Arthur. It's really quite selfish she's not working considering how poor they are. Couldn't even afford a new wand for Ron.

She grows vegetables and herbs to sell at market for money. She raises chickens and has a goat. In their small holding she grows all the food they need for a mainly plant based diet.in the evenings she and Arthur are regular attendees of the society of muggle watchers where curious witches and wizards senate all things weird and wonderful. They get to try hoovers and cake mixers.

They also have a very active sex life now all the kids have left home.

KenAdams · 14/05/2020 16:46

She knits! Must take her at least a year to make all those jumpers!

isittooearlyforgin · 14/05/2020 16:47

I think they had a fairly healthy sex life before kids left home judging from number of weasleys. Plus she has to be on hand for inevitable scrapes they get into. Working with dragons and attending schools with scant attention to health and safety regulations is not without its perils.

HollowTalk · 14/05/2020 16:48

It was never explained why they couldn't just magic up some new clothes for the kids, was it?

Pinnacular · 14/05/2020 16:52

I reckon she's writing a saucy wizard / muggle romance novel, based on her and Arthur's role play adventures Grin

Clevererthanyou · 14/05/2020 16:56

Just occasionally, I wish this website had a like button. I think Molly has missed a trick, she could be making her jumpers for niche little boutique stores.

Bookoffacts · 14/05/2020 16:57

She's not poor she's upper class. Don't know how you lot can't see that. Very typical house and attitude of that lot. Nobs.

HollowTalk · 14/05/2020 16:58

She's busy reading Muggles & Boon books.

serenada · 14/05/2020 17:11

@HollowTalk

Muggles and Boon Grin Grin Grin

The best!

LoisLittsLover · 14/05/2020 18:52

Muggles and Broom maybe... Or a step too far...??

NaviSprite · 14/05/2020 19:06

I imagine post war she’s the free child care for aaaaaall of her Grandkids (there are so many!!)

Pre war she was a SAHM - then Ginny goes to Hogwarts in book 2 - from there she probably tries to enjoy a bit of time not having to constantly watch out for a child for the first time in years then by book 5 she’s a member of OOTP.

Wouldn’t say she’s selfish having raised 7 children with a husband as vacant as Arthur 😂

walkingchuckydoll · 14/05/2020 19:08

She's writing 50 shades of magic

walkingchuckydoll · 14/05/2020 19:08

Or writing 50 shades of jumpers 😁

serenada · 14/05/2020 23:30

Look - I flattened the curveGrin

This was my attempt at making scones😩

User478 · 14/05/2020 23:38

I assume she's gambling all their money away on Magic Bingo or something.

The whole family are fucking awful with money, they won the lottery and blew it all on a trip to Egypt, we're back to scraping knuts together for quidditch tickets by book 4.

GCHWho · 15/05/2020 02:39

Her natural conception spell book “ Womb on the Broom “ is an international best seller, however she charged next to nothing for her self published book as just wanted others to experience the joy of family like she has !
