British Gas excess - who pays?

Hi,

I privately rent a flat and have no heating. I contacted my landlord who told me to call British Gas. I have been charged a £60 excess - is this mine to pay? Or my landlords?

I am happy to pay (I already have done!) but wanted to clarify - I can’t find anything online regarding this and there’s no clarification I can see in my tenancy agreement!

Is there anything in your contract about contractors and excesses? Gut feeling is that the landlord should pay as they have responsibility for keeping the boiler/heating system in working condition

I'd assume it's the landlords, when renting you expect the flat to be livable and I think no heating classes it as unsuitable to live in, phone citizens advice of you can't see anything in the tenancy agreement.

Landlord pays. It's his boiler and his heating system.
