Any Therapists/Counsellors around?

Currently on furlough from a job I hate and was about to resign from, so now talks of going back is filling me with dread. I have been considering retraining to do something I love, (at the age of 36!) knowing I have at least another 30 odd years before I can retire!

I have been in and out of therapy for a few years for a range of issues and it has helped me immensely, I would love to be in this field to help people how I have been helped.

Any therapists/counsellors have any recommendations on getting into this? I don’t have a degree. Anyone else retrained over 30, what is it like? Worried about being the oldest in class!

TIA

Not a therapist, but want to say look into CPCAB for counselling training.

You won’t be the oldest - lots of people retrain to be counsellors at all sorts of ages and life experience will be a plus!
