Rash driving me mad

Hi. The week before lockdown started I got a rash under both of my arms, one side worse than the other. It was so itchy and uncomfortable but figured give it a couple of weeks of not using deodorant and shaving and it would go away. It’s now been 8 weeks and normally I would have tried to get a doctors appointment to have it checked but obviously it’s not urgent enough to do that now, but it is driving me crazy. I haven’t changed my deodorant, soap, washing powder or anything at all. I have tried using hydrocortisone 1% but it hasn’t done anything. Can anyone advise what might help please? The other thing is I have shaved my arms once since I got the rash, so the hair that would normally grow through it isn’t!

I'd call my doctors surgery for advice, they've been good at giving telephone call backs at the moment. Maybe worth a try as it's been going on a while ?

GPs are happy to speak to patients with ‘non-urgent’ conditions....in fact they’re worried about all the things people aren’t seeing them about, so I would phone the surgery. And stop using the hydrocortisone is it’s not helping as it can this the skin and make matters worse (I speak as a long term skin condition sufferer...).

Could be fungal. I'd try a bit of canasten on it and see if it clears.

Thank you for the replies. I will try some canestan first and if that doesn’t work call the gp for some advice. Will stop with the hydrocortisone cream, I had heard that it can thin skin. Thank you.
