Why do you think saying its m and s would make a difference? It's not better quality? They all come from the same fish retailer.

Yes. I'm pretty strict about this kind of stuff but a day late doesn't bother me if it looks alright and I'm cooking it.

We’ve eaten lots that was just past sell by during lockdown, done the smell test if meat/ fish and been fine.

I wouldn't with fish. No idea why but I am cautious with these things!

I saw on one of those food programmes once that use by dates are usually 2/3 days before the actual date the food needs to be eaten to ensure it's safe.
