Can I ask the radiographer

Hi
I’m having an ultrasound scan tomorrow on a couple of benign cysts in my neck organised by ENT
However I also appear to have another new cyst on my leg
Will the radiographer scan just the neck as it was the ENT consultant who organised it or will they be able to do my leg as well if I mention it?
Thanks

I'd mention it. Worst case scenario they say no they can't scan that one there and then, and tell you that you'll have to be re-referred.

No, you will need a separate referral

I worked in Radiology for a long time and my partner is a radiographer. It's always worth an ask, but the problem is 1) there isn't a request so they legally shouldn't/couldn't 2) because of lack of request, they can't report it. And if they did actually find something worth looking into, they can't really tell you because of the lack of request, if that makes sense? It needs to go through the right channels to make sure it's dealt with and/or treated correctly

I work in Ultrasound.
No the sonographer won't scan your leg. They need a referral from a Dr as it's a legal document. They can't report anything the find without a legal referral with relevant information. I'm surprised you have a routine scan currently. All ours have been postponed unless urgent, though I know a lot of our outpatient clinics have started to re open this week.
