This is desperately sad. How evil are some people.

Two women who worked for the railway were spat on by a passenger who told them he had Covid. A few days later one of them, the mother of an eleven year old, died of covid herself.

I hope they find him.

I saw this too and am disgusted. How can people like this live with themselves?

FredaFrogspawn · 12/05/2020 13:47

I don’t know. I’m glad I don’t know.

Hopefully they find him and he will suffer the consequences.

Poor woman and her family, may she RIP.

JoeExoticsEyebrowRing · 12/05/2020 13:52

I saw this earlier and it's absolutely horrific.

However, there is no way of proving for sure that she contracted it from this person, or that the person indeed had Covid at the time, is there?

ShirleyPhallus · 12/05/2020 13:53

It is disgusting, but not surprising. I can guess exactly the type of little shitbag who did it

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 12/05/2020 13:56

It's revolting and wicked - but if she passed away just a few days after the incident then she didn't contract covid from the person who was vile enough to spit on her, it doesn't act that fast

I don't think it says she died a few days after, it say she fell ill a few days after. It says it happened in March and she died on 5th April but doesn't say what date in March it happened.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/05/2020 14:27

He should be charged with murder. My heart breaks for her poor little boy.

ABucketOfShells · 12/05/2020 14:54

Surely couldn’t of been him that gave it to her? Isn’t it 7-14 days for symptoms to develop?

Poor woman, how dreadfully sad for her family.

Workers on public transport are often treated like this. My DH is spat on/at frequently. Lots more people coughing in his face now though and telling him they've got corona. It's disgusting.

vixxo · 12/05/2020 15:15

I hope they find whoever it is, it's actually evil.

@PennyArrowBar

That's so awful. I don't understand why people are like this?!?! What's the rationale?? Some people are just despicable.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 12/05/2020 15:17

Impossible to prove but what a nasty piece of work and how terrible for her family. I have always loathed spitting anyway but I actually feel it should be properly prosecuted at the moment.

NameChange84 · 12/05/2020 15:18

I hope he is charged with manslaughter and also hope the same for the woman who coughed all over the young Uber driver who also later died of Covid as a result.

Despicable creatures the pair of them.

SirGawain · 12/05/2020 15:28

That may be true but in the present context it is still an assault inteded to course bodily harm.

lowlandLucky · 12/05/2020 16:24

Why are we surprised people act like this ? For the last 2 decades or so the left wing have made sure that there is next to on discipline in schools, we have been told children must be allowed to express themselves, that it doesnt matter if they run riot, that parents must bow down to their childs ever whim, after all they are just expressing themselves.
No child has to suffer consequences of their actions,no child is told what to do, they never get to fail, they never get left out.
We make excuses for every nasty mean person, oh the poor soul has had a bad life, oh but they have MH issues, they are going through a hard time, it doesnt matter if they are drug addicts we musn't punish them.

We need to stop making excuses for every badly behaved child and adult and instead make them responsible for their behaviour and make sure then understand hat poor behaviour is not acceptable ever.
We have the society we deserve

Iwalkinmyclothing · 12/05/2020 16:28

People have been murdering, raping, torturing, abusing and generally harming other people throughout history, why are you surprised that some people do terrible things? There is no rationale. Some people do not care about others.

PajamasnoDramas · 12/05/2020 16:54

Surely it’s manslaughter at the least. I’m so disgusted by this and so sorry for her loved ones. I would hope that the cctv coverage is adequate to identify the offender and bring them to justice.

JoeExoticsEyebrowRing · 12/05/2020 16:55

No, it's 2-14 days, with an average of 5 days. I am 99% sure I have had it and 99% sure where I got it from and if I am correct on both counts, then it was a maximum of 4 days (could have even been less) between becoming infected and first developing symptoms.

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/05/2020 17:01

For the last 2 decades or so the left wing have made sure that there is next to on discipline in schools, we have been told children must be allowed to express themselves,

Have I missed something? Haven't the Tories been in power? Cutting police and probation and services for gang prevention and funding for schools?

Cherrybakewelll · 12/05/2020 17:05

@JoeExoticsEyebrowRing both of the women fell ill. The work company have failed their staff horrendously and they should be made to invest for gloves and masks for their staff. It’s absolutely shocking all the same.

Cherrybakewelll · 12/05/2020 17:06

You can get symptoms of COVID in under a week.

FizzyGreenWater · 12/05/2020 17:06

For the last 2 decades or so the left wing have made sure that there is next to on discipline in schools, we have been told children must be allowed to express themselves

What. The. Fuck.

Is this a parallel country where the Tories haven't been in power for the last decade and spent most of it cutting services for the vulnerable, including young people?

Cherrybakewelll · 12/05/2020 17:08

@SirGawain would you feel the same if it was your mother that had died this tragic way?

The person who spat should of thought about that before spitting at someone. How disgusting Shock

Krisskrosskiss · 12/05/2020 17:10

@lowandlucky so I guess that means back in the day of corporal punishment society was so much safer!! Lmao. You dont get children to grow up being respectful and compassionate by beating and punishing them. Stop being so thick. What's really happening is that we have more access to news and much faster... so you see reports of violence, especially violence which captures peoples attention like this, much more than you would have done 50 years ago plus....
And if we are going to get political I'd point the finger at the right breeding generations of individualist determined that they should be able to do whatever they want whenever they want even if it causes death and harm to other people.... blame Maggie for 'theres no such thing as society' if you want to blame someone for young people having no sense of community or respect for society today.
