C section recovery, anyone had this?

I’ve had 3 c sections fairly close together (3rd was 11 months after 2nd) and although they went well, I’m definitely feeling like something is wrong after this last one. DS is 10 months old and my stomach is still massive and rock hard, just like a baby bump (definitely not pregnant!) I can’t suck my stomach in, it’s like the muscles don’t work. The other day I was bathing baby and leaning over the bath and suddenly it’s like my stomach seized up, muscle spasms and then kind of frozen. I had to stand up and sort of stretch out and it was agony! I’ve noticed it a few time’s like when I bent down to pick something up from the floor, but never that bad. It’s mainly how big and hard it is that worries me. I will call my gp (if I can get through) but just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience?

It's not a hernia is it? You've probably got quite bad muscle separation.

franfine · 11/05/2020 13:13

Hernia wouldn't make sense probably though on re reading your op and you've said your whole stomach is hard.

Could it be that your muscles haven't come back together - diastatis recti?

You could get physio for it if so.

I have separated stomach muscles and this sometimes happens (emcs) dsis 5!!

BuyorRent · 11/05/2020 13:18

@Windyatthebeach did your stomach go back down after birth? Don’t get me wrong I never had a flat stomach pre birth! But it’s very baby bump like. Did you go to your GP?

Was told to lose weight and specific exercises.. Def not sit ups. Lots of tutorials on YouTube.
Diet started today!!

Oh so you didn’t actually have to have physio, you just do exercises at home? I’ve pretty much lost my baby weight, just not the bump!

Sounds like diastasis recti it can happen after a c section ask to get referred to a physio

I’ve had this since my c section. If I bend over funny then something pops out from under my rib. It’s agony and I have to stand up really slowly and it pops back in.
I’ve had scans and all sorts but apparently totally normal?
I’ve heard a few people say they’ve got similar.

I've had three sections a couple of years apart and my stomach was soft and flabby afterwards. I'd book an appointment with your GP.
