I'm taking the plunge, stripping my hair of colour and dying it blonde. What could possibly go wrong?

I had an appointment for my roots to be done the day after lockdown was announced. They were bad enough then. They're now practically down to my ears. I look like Waynetta Slob. No hairdressers til July, so I've ordered a colour stripper and a box of hair dye that has Holly Willobooby on the front of it, so I beat looks as good as she does when it's on Grin seriously though, is this a terrible idea? I have light brown mousy natural hair that gets dyed a light blonde every 6 weeks usually. Will I end up looking like Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl?

Is the dye a lightener (usually claim to lighten the hair up to 8 times) or a standard blonde hair dye?

You may find the stripper gives your hair uneven tones, they will need evening out first.

You don't actually say what colour your are going to use . It would be good to know that . The name of the person on the box isn't really helpful.

If you are using colour stripper and then colouring it blonde, you will probably get a good result . I've done exactly that with good results so I can vouch for it !

What colour stripper have you purchased? Often people get these mixed up,
theres
colour removers = they remove the colour without bleaching agents but you should not attempt to recolour your hair without waiting a certain period of time, this is because using colourant can re-oxidise your previous colour and you’re going to have a dodgy result!

Colour strippers - basically bleaching your hair. Again I would highly suggest waiting a period of time before recolouring as you’ll be double processing.
Also with this method your roots could look a very different colour to your ends

Please do a patch first, I used hair dye for years and suddenly became allergic.

I've got colour B4 extra strength. I've used it before and it turned out ok
