New ideas for zoom based quizzes

Like lots of people we're participating in regular quizzes via zoom with various groups of friends. Am looking for new ideas for rounds that work well via zoom. We are adults only, and preferably without needing sound as we've had mixed results with sound quality. Thanks

My daughter did a good round last week. Guess the city skyline, as a Powerpoint. Tokyo, Durham, Dubai etc. Was really good!

Does anyone play games rather than quizzes? We've got a few quizzes lined up and I'd like to try something different.

PorpentiaScamander · 19/05/2020 17:06

AirConsole is good for games. And they were offering free 'hero' accounts for lockdown.
Teen dc particularly like Fart Work (a drawing game) and something that's basically Cards against Humanity

Close-up photo, guess the object
Children's book classics quiz

I've done (and won) a few Kahoot quizzes, and written questions for one, based on the Dangerous Book for Boys.

Musical chairs

VeganVeal · 19/05/2020 19:01

And the classic scratch wood scratch

A picture round we did that worked quite was a cropped part of a film poster and you had to guess the film. You can then make it as easy or as hard as you want depending on your audience. You could do something similar with album covers.

Try not to make it too fiendish or everyone gives up!

GreenTulips · 19/05/2020 20:22

Try a scavenger hunt!

First thing to grab int he bedroom
Something round from the fridge

Trying81 · 19/05/2020 20:43

We’ve done guess the song from the lyric

Even obvious lyrics are difficult to guess when they’re spoken out of context or tune

Wildernesstips · 19/05/2020 20:58

I know this isn’t a quiz but Macmillan Cancer are hosting a Whodunnit which is specifically designed for lockdown (6-8 people).

Postmanbear · 19/05/2020 21:40

We’ve done pictures of famous landmarks.
Pictures of iconic album covers.
Higher or lower with supermarket shopping items.
Who gets the closest guess to random questions.
Who’s older with celebrities.
Guess the year.
And guess the chocolate bar (picture)

Jackbox is brilliant - we love it. Murder mystery, quiplash and patently stupid are really good fun.

HawkinsLab · 19/05/2020 21:49

We did guess the baby photo (members of the group and celebs)

Impatientwino · 19/05/2020 23:02

We hosted one recently and the favourite rounds were

Name that cheese
Sex toy or gadget
Arse or elbow

Much laughter and conversation!

Impatientwino · 19/05/2020 23:03

Pretty much knackered my internet search history for the sex toy round Grin

Our work one is run through Kahoot. The questions come up on the zoom screen, as.multiple choice. You choose the symbol that relates to the right answer on the Kahoot page, but it does mean you have to have two devices.

Not a quiz but we did a virtual escape room (Clue Adventures, but there are several). Was great! You can have up to 6 participants. We were a group of 6 between 3 households. It felt almost like the real thing. You all work as a team so not competitive in the same way as a quiz.

OverTheRainbowLiesOz · 19/05/2020 23:12

Do you have a link for the virtual escape room?

Shannith · 19/05/2020 23:18

Done excellent ideas!

Popular here was name that plant/leaf

I got 10 flowers/herbs/leaves from the garden and held them up to the camera to guess.

salema · 20/05/2020 09:38
