So it looks like our kids could be going 4 months with no formal education, and then who knows what kind of arrangement afterwards. Mine are in years 3 and 4 currently, and I'm managing to get 50 minutes of work out of them on a good day, often less. One thing I'm prioritizing is their times tables. We do those every day. But everything else is pretty random. I try to get them to read, although they don't really want to. Can any teachers advise what it would be good to prioritize, given that a lot of children will only concentrate for a short while?

I’m not a teacher but learning isn’t just about sitting down doing worksheets

Keep the kids engaged by playing board games (good for maths, logic and literacy skills)
Pick a topic to research and become engaged in
Do simple home science experiments
Gardening
Cooking (measuring, science)

Children learn through play and doing so if you can’t get much formal work out of them try to get them doing other ‘fun’ stuff that is also teaching them skills
