Because they should be going back to work.

Except the phone lines are still going through to nothing and the supposed and suggested email address for customer services gets pinged back at you for failure to send.

We were supposed to get our sodas delivered the day after lock down was announced.

Well, I doubt they've had chance to sort anything yet! Get a grip!

Assuming they operate normal business hours, they have had 10 minutes to work this through so far.

Calm down.

HowFurloughCanYouGo · 11/05/2020 09:14

They were working throughout lock down before.

They were preparing for delivery times to change in preparation for the end of lock down.
So I'm surprised they haven't done that again.

My apologies that my thread as wound you up, so.

But lockdown HASN'T ended!

The government has released a plan.

While releasing that plan they have reconfirmed that those businesses not closed by law can still operate as long as they do so safely and while following social distancing.

Putting 2 men in the cab of a lorry so they can spend all day every day working in close confines while lugging sofas, is not safe and does not follow social distancing rules.

He said obey social distancing where you can.
He also said go back to work.

🤷🏼‍♀️

This thread pretty sums up so much of the wrong attitude I've seen during this whole saga.

ME, ME,ME! MY wants and needs! I want my needs met more importantly than anyone else! I'm being terribly inconvenienced! Wah, wah, wah!

No doubt I'll be called a 'condescending fuckweed' now or something equally choice. I don't give a shit. Keep it classy OP. Hmm

You don’t know if they have a full workforce, if they are working with skeleton staff, if their staff have been furloughed, and any of this for their supply chain.

HowFurloughCanYouGo · 11/05/2020 09:41

I'm not inconvenienced.

I still have a sofa. We ordered it 6 months ago, that didn't bother me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was just wondering if anyone had any info.

But while I'm looking after unwell kids at hospital I will remind myself what a selfish fuck I am, thanks for the reminder.

Why feel the need to squeeze in that you are an oh-so-important nhs worker when that has NOTHING to do with the thread?

QuillBill · 11/05/2020 13:25

My friend works for B&Q as a delivery driver and has been working throughout lockdown.

At first they were doing two person deliveries they they were only delivering items that needed one person and leaving them at the door.

Then they started two person again but one was driving the van and the other bloke was in a car following the van. They both carry it to the drive and then it's up to the customer to get it in.

RJnomore1 · 11/05/2020 13:28

8.43 am 😂 that must be a record

Hope you get your sofa op, genuinely, perhaps they will do what nin carts are doing here and have a second lifter follow in their own car to minimise contact

Quite apart from the craziness of expecting an immediate answer and the lack of recognition that employers have a duty to their employees to provide a safe workplace even if boris has "encouraged" a return to work if you can't work from home.. the me change is from Wednesday, not today. Give them a chance!

Mangofandangoo · 11/05/2020 15:11

@JoesExotic not really sure there's any need for that
