I would think they will reopen on Wednesday.

Depends where you are in the UK.

I was talking to DH about this. I think from what we have heard, they are, from Wednesday. There was an article on the BBC web site last night called something like “how has lockdown changed” with graphics, and one of the graphics was that you could spend time in parks and other public places without exercising. Beaches are definitely public places. But as with everything we have to wait for the 50 page guidance before definitely finding out. Maybe it will specifically exclude beaches.

Yes, Itsallgoingtobefine, you are right of course, I mean and should have said in England.

Howmanysleepsnow · 11/05/2020 08:44

It’s all the uk. As Boris said, he’s PM of the UK, not just England. Some decisions are devolved, but not all. Wales, Scotland and NI aren’t independent.

Spam88 · 11/05/2020 08:48

@Howmanysleepsnow that's completely incorrect. The coronavirus legislation is devolved, Boris' announcement only applies to England, a fact which politicians in wales have been reiterating over and over again since 7:15pm last night.

TheresALight · 11/05/2020 08:49

@Howmanysleepsnow - Wales and Scotland HAVE NOT changed the rules. Advice is still STAY HOME, SAFE LIVES

TheresALight · 11/05/2020 08:49

SAVE!

Veterinari · 11/05/2020 08:54

@Howmanysleepsnow
Your confidence in your own ignorance is hilarious! Grin

Coronavirus rules are a devolved matter - Scotland, Wales and NO don't need to be independent to protect their own populations. Shame the English PM doesn't have the same regard.

My local beach has a 30 knot northeaster, so the risk is hypothermia. Still not going out, as I could still be shedding virus. I keep sneezing 3 weeks after the official recovery date.
